The City of Galena is located in Northwest Illinois
about 15 miles from the Illinois/Iowa state line. The rolling
hills, history, 19th century architecture, and opportunities for

visitors per year. Galena is the largest city and the county
seat of Jo Daviess County. 581 acres of the city (85%) is
listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the
