This 400 year old garden was reclaimed in 2001, from being on
National at Risk Register, self-sown trees and swamped grounds it is
now full of meadows, roses, vegetables, cutflowers and drifts of bulbs
in a stunning parkland setting, and the highlight of our visit: Sweet
Peas.
Every year many varieties of sweet pea plants are raised in
greenhouses, you can see heritage, modern, scented, striped, flake
and bicolour sweet peas displayed on drums and wigwams throughout
the gardens.
The afternoon is spent at East Bridgford Garden Centre, with
undercover shopping, the Blue Diamond centre also boasts two
beautiful restaurants - Cafe Home & Garden and The Greenhouse
