of Bali. Check into your relaxed resort near the
village and spend the rest of the day enjoying the

this one of the most breathtaking sights in the
whole of Indonesia. Drive up and over the edge
of the major caldera, then drive across the sea of
sand towards smoking Mt Bromo and get out to
walk up to the lip of the crater itself to peer into
the depths of the volcano.

including the Monkey Forest and the Agung Rai
Museum of Art.
The following day drive into the spectacular
interior of Bali, an area of waterfalls, mountain
lakes and volcanoes, and take a nature walk.
In the evening hear Tony Druttman give a
fascinating talk on his own family’s long line of
dentists, a dramatic story spanning the Russian
Revolution and World War II.
Next morning fly to Flores, one of a series of
sharp peaked green islands offering beautiful
views. Visit the village of Mero to witness a
folkloric dance, the caci, a dramatically staged
whip dance. Check into your beachfront hotel.
Rise very early the next morning to cruise
through beautiful peaked islands and turquoise
sea on a traditional boat to Komodo Island.
Disembark and take a guided tour of the
National Park to see the Komodo Dragons,
walking up to Sulphurea and Frigate Hills for
superb views. Sail to nearby Pink Beach for
some spectacular snorkelling in turquoise water
brimming with brightly coloured fish and coral.
Afterwards sail onto Kalong Island in time to see
thousands of bats flying out of their cave before
returning to the hotel at the end of the day.
Next day transfer to the airport to fly back to
Bali. Spend a final night in Sanur at the lovely
beachfront Puri Santrian Hotel.
