Threading a common design inspiration
throughout the Hotel are symbolic heritage
footprints of a veritable who’s who of the Ming
Dynasty’s most renowned scholars, philosophers,
artists, poets and calligraphers, innovators and
explorers.
From intellectual Zhang Dai in the hotel lobby,
writer Wen Zhenheng and poet Wen Zhengming
in the guestrooms, calligrapher Xu Wei in Jia, the
hotel’s Chinese restaurant, prince-turned-
philosopher Zhu Quan in Yuan Tea House and
Le Shen

Close to the heart of China's contemporary art
movement at the 798 Art District, NUO Hotel
Beijing is an art destination in its own right,
home to a priceless series of works from the
country's most critically acclaimed artists,
including "China's greatest living artist" Zeng
Fanzhi. In his role as NUO's honorary art
consultant, Mr. Zeng has created a number of
works for the hotel including all guest rooms and
two that serve as centre pieces in the
magnificent marble lobby Inspired by the literary
work of Ming Dynasty writer Zhang Dai, "Le
Shan" is a monumental 2.25-tonne sculpture in
silver and bronze, while "Landscape 2014" is a
dramatic five-metre long oil painting greeting
guests at check-in.
