Eastbound

Day 1, Arrive in VictoriaArrive Victoria and make your own way to your hotel. As
the capital of British Columbia, Victoria is very tourist-friendly. Among the many
attractions are world-famous Butchart gardens, its 150 years of British history,
gourmet dining and fantastic shopping.

Day 2, VictoriaTour departs from CVS Tours kiosk in front of the Fairmont
Empress Hotel at 721 Government St. Please arrive at the check-in location at
least 10 minutes prior to tour departure time. Upon boarding the coach present
your exchange voucher to the driver.

From Victoria's Inner Harbour, head to the Butchart Gardens, named a National
Historic Site of Canada in 2004, the 100th birthday of the gardens. 22 Hectares (55
acres) of breathtaking gardens on the 53 hectare (130 acres) estate are visited by
more than a million people each year. The gardens are glorious any time of year.
Once at the gardens stroll through the floral splendor which greets you at every
turn. Return to downtown Victoria on a shuttle convenient for you. Includes
admission to the Butchart Gardens.

Day 3, Cruise Victoria - VancouverDepart Victoria Capital City depot (721 Douglas
St) at 7:30 am daily. Check-in is required 30 minutes prior to departure. Arrive at
Canada Place Pier at approximately 11:45 am. Please note there is only one daily
departure that drops off at Vancouver Cruise Terminal. (L, D)

Day 5, JuneauJuneau, Alaska may well be the most remote, most beautiful and
strangest state capital in the United States. (B, L, D)

Day 6, SkagwayThe Northern most port in the inside passage Skagway is a small
town that earned its place on the map when gold was discovered in the Klondike
region of the Yukon Territory (just across the border from Alaska). This resulted
in the historic Gold Rush of 1898. (B, L, D)

Day 7, Glacier Bay National Park CruisingFrom the bottom of the deepest glacial
fjord to the summit of its highest peak, Glacier Bay encompasses some of our
continent's most amazing scenery and wildness. (B, L, D)

Day 8, KetchikanExplore this uniquely Alaskan port, famous for its rich native
culture, salmon fishing, and scenic Misty Fjords. (B, L, D)

Day 9, Scenic Cruising Canadian Inside PassageRelax and enjoy a full day of scenic
Inside Passage cruising and enjoy all the facilities onboard your ship. (B, L, D)

Day 10, Arrive in VancouverEnjoy breakfast on board and disembark ship and
make your own way to your hotel. (B)

Immerse yourself in the mountainside rainforest on Vancouver's North Shore.
Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park for an exhilarating walk across the
450-foot bridge span high above the riverbed. Stroll the suspended walkways
throughout the forest canopy and a path cantilevered to the granite cliff-side.
Enjoy a stop at the Capilano Salmon Hatchery to learn about the area and the
lifecycle of salmon. Plus, step aboard the Grouse Mountain Skyride that travels
one aerial mile to the Peak Chalet for seasonal entertainment including live
performances, chairlifts, and exhibits.

Day 11, VancouverTour to Horseshoe Bay and step aboard a Zodiac for an
exploration of Howe Sound, one of North America's southernmost fjords.

Take in the rugged beauty of the wild coast on this one-hour boat journey north
where you will reconnect with your tour guide. Walk to the base of Shannon Falls
and feel the mist from the roaring water before continuing north to the Sea to Sky
Gondola for a breathtaking journey up the mountainside. At the Britannia Mine
Museum, hear the stories of early mining efforts and learn about the historical
lives within this community.

This tour is conducted on a comfortable mini-coach seating up to 30 passengers
and offering exceptional visibility. Coaches are detailed after every tour and are
outfitted with heating & air-conditioning for your comfort. Live tour commentary
is conducted in English.

shoes recommended. Underground train at the Britannia Mining Museum is 12C (54F) all
year round, we suggest to bring a warm outer layer for this portion of the tour.

Day 12, VancouverGranville Island is Canada’s second most-visited destination,
behind Niagara Falls, and Vancouver’s destination for lovers of food, art and
culture. During the tour, guests eat their way through the world-famous Public
Market and hear the intriguing stories, culture, and history behind the tasty
creations. Tour highlights include: locally-cured meats, small production local
cheeses, and freshly-baked artisan bread. Touring the Granville Island Public
Market is one of the most authentic ways to experience Vancouver. Tour includes
2-hour tour of the Grandville Island Public Market, 20 tastings of regional foods
and 8 delicious destinations.

Day 13, Vancouver - KamloopsBoard the Rocky Mountaineer train at the
Vancouver Station at 7:30 am PT. Travel from the coastal city of Vancouver to
Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. On today’s journey you will
see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley,
through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast
and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior.
Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the
steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Breakfast & lunch
included onboard. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the
shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm PT. spend
the evening exploring the city of Kamloops or relaxing in your hotel room. All
hotels in Kamloops are of moderate standard: your hotel will be assigned post-

Day 14, Kamloops - BanffBoard the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Kamloops
Station at 6:25 am PT, your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian
Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again, you will see a spectacular array
of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high
mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich
rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie,
where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over
Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers
and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast & lunch included
onboard. Your rail journey ends this evening upon arrival in Banff, between 8:00
pm and 9:30 pm MT.

Day 15, Banff HighlightsThis morning, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Banff
and Banff National Park. Among the highlights are visits to Bow Falls, the Banff
Gondola (admission included), Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the
Hoodoos.

Day 16, Banff, Yoho National Park & Lake LouiseA half-day tour takes you into
Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions
are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the
Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise where the remainder of the
afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy this magnificent location. Overnight in Lake

Day 17, Lake LouiseA full day at leisure to explore the heart of the Canadian
Rockies.

Perhaps take out a canoe and paddle amongst the turquoise waters of Lake Louise
(additional cost), take in a stroll around the lake, afternoon tea at the Fairmont
Chateau Lake Louise (additional cost) or for the more adventurous, a hike to the
Lake Agnes Tea House for bird’s-eye views.

Day 18, Icefields Parkway Tour, Ice Explorer, Lake Louise - JasperEnjoy a
sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper national parks via the Icefields Parkway.
Among the highlights are Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield, Glacier Skywalk and
Athabasca Falls. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice
south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North
America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca
Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Arrive in Jasper late this
afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 19, JasperThe town of Jasper and its surrounding area occupies is the largest
inhabitable valley in the Canadian Rockies, which means more food for "All
Creatures Great and Small". Put on your safari hat as you set out into the Park
with your own Wildlife Interpreter in search of all of the park's most iconic
creatures. Big or small, there are lots of animals to see in Jasper! Elk, bear, deer,
big horned sheep, mountain goats, foxes, coyotes, wolves, and moose, are just a
sample of Jasper's many wild mountain animals. This tour is the perfect chance
to enjoy spectacular scenery and learn more about Jasper's original inhabitants.
The SunDog guides are well versed in the history, geology, and ecology of the
area, they are happy to answer any questions you may have and may lead you on
short, interpretive walks during the tour. As you travel through the Athabasca
Valley you will see some of the park’s most beautiful scenery, so have your
camera ready to capture some amazing photos of the highlights of your visit!
Photos are usually taken from the inside the vehicle or on the ground at a safe
distance from the animals. Jasper National Park is not a zoo but a wild, protected
area.

While Jasper is one of the premier year-round wildlife viewing destinations in all
of Western Canada, our most successful summer viewing months are May, June,
September and October. The larger animals in the park can be more elusive
during July and August but stunning photo opportunities abound!

Kindly note that the selected route is at the discretion of your guide and is
dependent on the location of the animals and the unpredictable weather
conditions in the Rockies.

Day 20, Jasper - TorontoA checked baggage service is available for your journey.
Baggage must be checked at least 45 minutes before departure at terminal
stations.Board VIA Rail's "The Canadian" for an unforgettable train journey! The
original stainless steel "streamliner" railcars, made famous by the "Canadian" in
the 1950's, are totally refurbished with air conditioning. Relax in the dome car
and experience stunning 360-degree views. Follow the Athabasca River out of the
Canadian Rockies to enter the Great Central Plains of Canada, stretching east for
a thousand miles through Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

By day, rest comfortably in an armchair while enjoying the spectacular views of
the landscape rolling by. Each spacious bedroom has private toilet facilities, a
sink, a mirror, razor outlet, a small closet, large window with blind and locking
door. A shower, just a few steps away from the bedrooms and berths, is reserved
for sleeper plus class passengers. Complimentary shower towels and an amenity
bag for body care articles are provided. At night, your armchair will be converted
into a cozy bed equipped with a reading light. Pillows, sheets and blankets are

Day 21 - 22, Onboard via RailTravel through the heartland of Canada; pass the
plains that are the "bread basket" of the nation and home to huge ranches and
wheat farms spread across this vast landscape. After departing the City of

Winnipeg, the prairies give way to the rugged, forested landscape of Northern
Ontario and the Canadian Shield. The Canadian Shield is vast layer of exposed,
pre Cambrian rocks that are over 500 million years old, dotted with thousands of
lakes, covering hundreds of thousands of square kilometers rich in nickel,
copper, gold, and other precious minerals. Turning south at Sudbury for Southern
Ontario, the rail line skirts the shores of Georgian Bay before arriving in Toronto,

Day 23, Arrive in TorontoArrive Toronto late afternoon and make your own way to

Day 24, TorontoEnjoy the fun and informative commentary of the live guides and
take in the city's sights as you relax aboard our antique British double-deckers or
trolleys. There are 21 official stops to choose from and your bus ticket is valid for
2 days, allowing you to explore Toronto at your own pace. A harbour and islands
cruise is included from May - October.

Day 26, Niagara FallsThis pass offers you admission to many of Niagara Falls most
popular attractions while avoiding any long wait times. Simply reserve a time
