Meeting Music Contest - A passion for the person

Music contest as part of the Meeting for friendship among peoples
The Meeting Music Contest reaches its second edition, after the extraordinary success of the first with over 150
participants, and the first place assigned to singer-songwriter Mattia Stifanelli who is working, thanks to the
success of his first album.
The title of this edition is "Passion for mankind", created by the Meeting for friendship among peoples of Rimini,
the largest cultural and youth event in all of Europe and by the Mei-Meeting of independent labels in Faenza, the
the most important national scouting platform on the independent and emerging Italian scene.
The artists are asked to present two songs: a cover and an original song that addresses the theme of the 2022
Meeting "A passion for mankind".
The 8 semifinalists perform on the Palco Piscine of the Rimini Fair on 21 and 22 August 2022 on the occasion of
the 43rd edition of the Rimini Meeting.
The final is presented by Lorenzo Baglioni and takes place on 24 August 2022. The winner can perform at MEI 25
which is held in Faenza from 30 September to 2 October.
For the occasion, a Jury of Honor is composed by Grazia Di Michele, Lorenzo Baglioni and Hu, who also perform
live, and other representatives of the recording and music sector, together with the coordinators Giordano
Sangiorgi and Otello Cenci.

culturally-diverse accounts and experiences: this unique event tackles crucial topics, in a free open dialogue with
the most interesting cultural, political and religious figures.
The title of the 43rd edition is 'A passion for the person'. In times of great uncertainty, the challenge of how to
live touches everyone; the courage to get involved once again, the need to build authentic relationships with
anyone who becomes part of our human trajectory, are decisive elements in order not to succumb.
A packed program of events, among which there is the Meeting Music Contest - 2nd edition of the musical contest
for young artists and bands, and the inaugural show inspired by one of the precious theatrical texts by G.K.

Exhibition of the works by Chiara Maria Surami and Santiago Sambuci
On the second floor of the New Wing of the City Museum, the exhibition entitled ‘Sui Monti via più breve è da
vetta a vetta’/’ On the mountains the shortest way is from peak to peak’, with works by Chiara Maria Surami and
Santiago Sambuci, young artists, students of the Naba, Nuova Accademia di Fine Arts of Milan (Department of
Painting and Visual Arts).
Large-format paintings on canvas (Santiago Sambuci) with strong pictorial gestures are displayed together with
three-dimensional terracotta objects referring to ancient sacred rituals and symbolic parts of the body (Chiara
Maria Surami).
The two artists alternate their works in a fluid path. On the one hand, the theme of the body and its fetishes, theEVENTI

feminine and life-germinating imprint, ancestral and sacral, on the other, in a counter canto, the large canvases
with an open and gestural pictorial sign that discover the approach to life and transcribe the lived experience.
The proposed works are the result of an integration between two languages, that of painting and that of the
manipulation of the material that transforms clay into sculpture.
The artists intend to involve the observer as an active user, with a view to experimentation and pupils,
encouraged and followed by teachers Adrian Paci and Marco Scotini, Visual Arts Department head of the Milan
Academy.

On the beach of Rimini
Scenic lighting effects able to amaze and leave children and adults speechless: these are the Fireworks, still
protagonists of great shows organized by the Local Tourist Committees on the beach of Rimini.
Evening event on the occasion of the Pink Night, when on Friday 1 July at midnight, the fireworks on the sea
illuminate the whole coast in unison.

The Blue Night is the Italian festival dedicated to the Spa, to natural well-being, to healing waters, a unique event
in Italy. In Emilia-Romagna the party lasts for three consecutive days in 12 locations and in 14 spas, from

Tribute to Italo Di Fabio

Dean of Rimini photo-amateurs, he donates his archive to the Gambalunga Library
With the donation of Italo Di Fabio's archive, strongly desired by the author, the large photographic heritage of the
Gambalunga Library is enriched with a new collection. The material acquired includes 9,738 photographic prints,
71,864 slides, 37,637 negatives and over 150,000 digital files, but also his personal archive, including
photographic equipment and letters, brochures, press clippings, medals, diplomas and honors from the 1960s to
today. Co-founder together with Luciano Liuzzi of the "Photo Cine Club" of Rimini, Di Fabio has made an
important contribution to the history of amateur and professional photography in Rimini.
Di Fabio has been indicated as "one of the best known, most discussed and envied Italian photo amateurs".
The exhibition presents a selection of 60 photographic works that retrace his work and give an account of his
continuous and amused research and experimentation of light, color, geometry.

Photographic exhibition on the beach of Rimini
An exhibition that is structured along several kilometers of beach and that tells the most intimate and hidden
Rimini, through some of the black and white photographs by Gianni Donati and Pio Sbrighi. The photographic
exhibition unfolds a step away from the seashore and is divided into five chapters, through which the city of Rimini
is told with nostalgia, irony, clarity of mind and imagination. To the photographic narration are added phrases,
quotations, reflections of the authors and anecdotes from Romagna. Images of a Rimini whose secrets belong
entirely to those who live there, which are divided into sections dedicated to a variety of characters from Rimini's
daily life, universal archetypes in which to recognize oneself, including lifeguards, bathers, fishermen and children.
A “pop” path, light without being superficial, where the images chat with the context in which they are located, the
beach of Rimini, an icon of seaside tourism and a universal destination for fun and lightheartedness.
The photographs are taken from the volume by Gianni Donati and Pio Sbrighi, Rimini di Pietra, Nuvole and Sale,
a volume that tells another Rimini in 200 black and white shots, to which the famous Rimini author Marco Missiroli
contributed.

Exhibition as part of Cartoon Club at the City Museum
As part of the Cartoon Club, the City Museum hosts an exhibition entitled NAGASAKI BEYOND. War, peace and
Buddhism.
Destruction after the atomic bomb: moving and sadly poetic shots by American war photographer Joe O'Donnell.
Photographs depicting the destruction of the city of Nagasaki immediately after the explosion of the nuclear bomb
in 1945. In March 1946, O'Donnell returned to his homeland and was dismissed. Unable to see or show the tragic
photos he took, he takes them home with him, puts them in a trunk and tries to forget. It was only in the 90s that
he decided to share his photos with the world, in the hope that the mistakes of the past would not be repeated in
the future.
Now his images travel the world as a warning to the consciences of individuals and nations.
About 100 photographs, where the most iconic and famous is certainly the one that portrays a child from
Nagasaki with his little brother who died in the atomic bombing on his shoulder waiting for his turn to have him
cremated. That same image was chosen in 2018 by Pope Francis to convey a renewed message of peace.
O'Donnell died on August 9, 2007, the same day as the bomb of Nagasaki, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 86
years old. The photos are now kept by the Buddhist association of Honmon-Butsuryu Shu (HBS) in Kioto, which
grants them only on condition that the initiatives are aimed at promoting a Culture of Peace.
On Thursday 14 July at 5 pm, a guided tour of the exhibition will take place in the presence of Seijun Nagamatzu -
curator of KJOTO HBS Museum.

After the exhibition “Fellini between dream and reality: the photographic contribution of Rodrigo Pais” the
photographic appointments at the Fellini Museum continue. An exhibition itinerary that develops along the walls of
the Palazzo del Fulgor headquarters, offering detailed studies and reflections related to the figure and cinema of
the Rimini master. Starting from 10 June and until 4 September, the Fellini Museum hosts the photographic
exhibition by Patrizia Mannajuolo “Federico Fellini behind the scenes” in the Palazzo del Fulgor.
102 years after his birth, the great director relives in the shots of Patrizia Mannajuolo from the set of La città delle
donne. Usually, when portraying celebrities, one is conditioned in some way by a preconceived idea. Patrizia
Mannajuolo in her off-stage photographs, on the other hand, manages to shoot with a free mind and attentive
gaze, capturing moments of rare spontaneity and revealing the characters to us as if she were seeing them for the
first time. Her eyes focus on details already investigated by many, but with a peculiarvision, showing us the true
and genuine Fellini, far from the official nature of public appearances or authorized backstage. In Cinecittà

Piazza Cavour in Rimini becomes the theater of the folk dance for the 7th edition of the Balamondo World Music
Festival 2022, three days of ‘liscio music’ and international sound (from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September) under
the artistic direction of Mirko Casadei. All guests are involved in the experimentation and contamination with the
classics of folk music.
The 2022 program in Rimini brings together the Casadei tradition with Mirko Casadei and a great name of Italian
pop, Max Gazzè, accompanied by his band. On Saturday 3rd September, in jam session with Mirko Casadei and
his Orchestra, Gazzè will also interpret the great classics of Liscio Casadei for the evening dedicated to
the “Notte del Liscio”.
The event that returns to Romagna (Rimini September 3 and Gatteo Mare September 10) pays homage to the
strong popular culture of Romagna, in that cheerful, positive and welcoming identity that distinguishes this land. It
is to the “Re del Liscio” Raoul Casadei that his son Mirko Casadei and his POPular Folk Orchestra dedicate this
evening of La Notte del Liscio in Rimini.
The Balamondo World Music Festival 2022 is open by Cisco and Bandabardò on Friday 2 September, while
Rumba de Bodas and Dente and Zibba are the protagonists of the final evening on Sunday 4 September.

Re-enactment of the historical fishing: La Tratta

Demonstration of the Rimini maritime tradition by “Rimini per tutti” ONLUS Association
The initiative is an opportunity to discover the sea traditions of Rimini through a re-enactment of the fishing
technique 'La Tratta', a "poor" fishing technique that was in use on the coast from ancient time until the 1950s.
This kind of fishing will be proposed in a practical demonstration with the aim to keep alive the local tradition and
discover the ancient fishing in the Adriatic sea, which has always been a main resource for the seafarer
population in Rimini.
After the fishing demonstration, there will be a tasting of grilled fish, cooked according to the ancient local
tradition, accompanied by 'piada' and local wine.
Anyone wishing to become a fisherman for a day and relive the ancient tradition of 'La Tratta' can just go to the
beach in the afternoon, around 3.00 pm, to prepare for the descent and participate in the collection of the nets on
the following days:
