Sand Nativity scene at Torre Pedrera
8 December 2018 – 13 January 2019
When tradition becomes art
Also this year beautiful sand sculptures are created on the beach 65 in Torre Pedrera, thanks to the work of sand
artists directed and coordinated by the Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee.
At its twelfth edition, the Nativity scene, made entirely of sand and water, will be dedicated to children.
Comic characters will appear among the scenes of the traditional Nativity.
Next to the Nativity, another structure hosts a typical market with Christmas products.
During the Christmas holidays there will be the usual bingo on the beach, and, entertainment with Santa Claus
and the Befana.

An event that promotes the use of extra-virgin olive oil from the Rimini area with tastings guided by experts.
An aperitif with food combinations exclusively based on locally produced extra virgin olive oil.
The purpose of the evening, enlivened by music and DJ sets, is the knowledge of the organoleptic and gustatory
characteristics of the Riminese extra virgin olive oil.
Organization by CNA Rimini in collaboration with the Frantoiani Oleari Association of Emilia Romagna and the
Association Mia.
For the occasion a record “bruschetta” (toasted bread) will be presented, 10 meters long, made and offered by
the Forno della Vecchia Pescheria.

Vocal and instrumental music between the Middle Ages and the 1900s
Also this year the appointment is with the Christmas Concert of the City of Rimini, organized by the non-profit
organization A.R.O.P. which promotes projects for the families of children under treatment in the Department of
Pediatric Oncology.
In particular, the initiative is aimed at the completion of the Hospitality Home which houses the families of children
in therapy at the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Infermi Hospital in Rimini.
Permormers: the EOS quartet with Matteo Salerno flute, Aldo Capicchioni violin, Aldo Maria Zangheri viola and
Anselmo Pelliccioni cello, together with Roberto Torriani organ, Arianna Lanci mezzo-soprano and the Vocal
Chapel of Scolca.

Charity event for the children of the Pediatric Oncology Hospital of Rimini
A Christmas event on December 15, in favor of the Pediatric Oncology Department (Rimini Hospital), proposed by
the non-profit association A.R.O.P. whose purpose is to support children affected by oncohematological diseases
and other chronic diseases of the pediatric age.
Participation and invitation is open to all motorcyclists and to all those who want to bring a simple smile to the
children of the oncohematological pediatrics department, with donations to A.R.O.P.
The donations (10 euros as a participation fee), can be collected in advance at the City Bar (viale Carducci, 157
Cesenatico) on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, to allow the purchase of gifts in good time.
The program includes a meeting point in the Boscovich square from 9.00 am with departure in the direction of the
Ospedale Infermi in Rimini, where the gifts will be given to the children of the Department of Pedriatic Oncology.
After the delivery the participant will return to the Sand Nativity set up in the beach of the Lungomare Tintori di
Rimini.

The longest night of the year starts from the heart of Marina Centro and arrives in the city with a thousand parties

Celebrations for the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth
The Municipality of Rimini and its Film Library (Cineteca) have organized a rich program of events to
commemorate and celebrate Federico Fellini, starting from October 4th.
25 years after the death of the great director, a long journey will begin, full of events, until 2020, the centenary of
the director's birth, that the city of Rimini will celebrate with the inauguration of Fellini Museum.
The first part of the review "The movies that I wrote", 15 films (projected in 35 mm), will start on October 4th, at
the Film Library. A conference will also be organized to deepen and study the Fellini's themes (Wednesday 24th
October at 9.30 a.m.). To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fellini's death, a double appointment has been
organized: the presentation of Gianfranco Miro Gori's book “Rimini in the cinema” and the screening of the film 'I
Vitelloni' introduced by the director Susanna Nicchiarelli (Wednesday, October 31st at the Cinema Fulgor).
On November 14th, Peter Gonzales - protagonist of the film - and Francesca Fabbri Fellini will present the
screening of 'Rome', on the occasion of the opening night of the 11th edition of Amarcort Film Festival, at the
Fulgor Cinema.
On Wednesday 5th December at the Fulgor Cinema, “Fellini - Zavoli – Rimini” will be presented, a project of a
documentary under construction. The program also includes two literary presentations that will also be held at the

Thirteen shows in thirteen days including music, dance and prose: the Teatro Galli is preparing to 'celebrate' the
first month of activity supported by the love of the Rimini public and the great interest aroused even beyond the
city limits.
From 28 October, the date of the exciting inauguration with the voice of Cecilia Bartoli, about seven thousand
spectators entered the reborn Theater, including special events - from Roberto Bolle to Piovani – from Sagra
Musicale Malatestiana to the first prose shows.

The Gambalunga Library offers the opportunity to visit the Ancient Halls in the seventeenth century Palazzo

the jurisconsult Alessandro Gambalunga, who prepared the legacy of his "library" to the Municipality of Rimini in
his will. His achive consisted of 1438 volumes, about 2,000 printed works, with prestigious covers bearing the
emblem of the family and the name of the patron. The library, opened in 1619, qualified as public, is the first civic

Event for the world's longest New Year celebrations
The Pro Loco Association “Miramare d'Amare”, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, sets up a themed
village consisting of wooden houses, nativity scenes from around the world, Christmas trees and children's games
along the avenue Oliveti, from the train station to viale Regina Margherita.
Children can deliver Christmas letters to Santa Claus who every year comes from the North Pole to bring them
gifts.
Until January 6, you can visit the house of Santa Claus who will distribute sweets to children during the weekends.
Here you can admire the Nativity scenes from the 5 continents and the Nativity scene of the future and you can
take pictures under the Christmas tree
Events and shows for families as well as an exhibition of local products will take place during the weekends
starting from 8th December and 4th, 5th and 6th January 2019.

This year the exhibition will have a prestigious location: the rooms of Castel Sismondo.
The theme of the exhibition will be "Traveling, meeting, narrating".
The journey as a necessary movement to get out of oneself, one's own ideologies, one's own preconceptions and
meet the other, another culture, another way of living the faith, another country.
Every meeting with the other is a source of treasure and mutual growth.
Meeting to understand not only what I can give, but also what I can receive.
In this sense, as Saramago writes, "The journey never ends. Only travelers end. And they too can be prolonged in
memory and in narration ".
It will therefore be not only an exhibition to see but a trip to meet the various immigrant communities who have
prepared their Nativity scene, listen to their stories and taste their food.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Bishop Francesco.
