ABOUT THE TRAINING
This training informs group leaders how to deliver the evidence-based Teacher Classroom
Management (TCM) Training Program to preschool and early school-age teachers (of children ages
3–8 years).
The program curriculum is focused on strengthening teacher classroom management strategies,
promoting children’s pro-social behavior and school readiness, and reducing classroom aggression
and non-compliance with peers and teachers. Additionally, the curriculum focuses on helping teachers
brainstorm ways they can effectively collaborate with parents to support their school involvement and
promote consistency from home to school.
After the training, leaders can offer this 6-day curriculum to groups of teachers in their schools. It may
be delivered in monthly or weekly meetings and takes 42 hours for teachers to complete the entire series.
The curriculum uses the book Incredible Teachers (written by Carolyn Webster-Stratton, IY Developer) as

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Jamila Reid, Ph.D., is a clinical child psychologist who worked at the University of Washington Parent-
ing Clinic with Dr. Webster-Stratton from 1997-2010. Currently, she is the Director of Implementation for
The Incredible Years, and is a certified trainer for the Child and Teacher Incredible Years® Programs. She
offers support, consultation, and training to agencies, group leaders, mentors, and researchers.

Goals of the teacher training series:
• Promote teacher competencies
• Strengthen teachers’ proactive teaching skills
• Strengthen teachers’ behavior management skills
• Promote teachers’ use of behavioral assessment and individually tailored behavior plans
• Promote consistency of behavior plans from school to home by teachers involving parents
in planning
• Strengthen teachers’ use of strategies which promote children‘s self-regulation skills
(e.g. problem solving, anger management)
• Promote teachers’ use of research-based discipline strategies for reducing aggression
and disruptive behavior in the classroom
• Help teachers learn how to do social and emotion coaching with their students
• Increase teachers’ support networks
