 PRELUDE

 WELCOME

* HYMN OF PRAISE
  No. 127                                                CWM RHONDDA
                  Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

* CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 130:1-6
        Leader: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.

        People: Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be
                     attentive to the voice of my supplications!

        Leader: For the Lord is a great God, and a great King
                     above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the
                     earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.

        People: But there is forgiveness with you, so that
                     you may be revered.

        Leader: I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word
                     I hope;

        People: My soul waits for the Lord more than those
                     who watch for the morning, more than
                     those who watch for the morning.

* OPENING PRAYER

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostles’ Creed
        I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven
        and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: who
        was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
        suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and
        buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended
        into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the
        Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the
        quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
        catholic* church, the communion of saints, the
        forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the
        life everlasting. Amen.
                                                         *universal

* GLORIA PATRI                                             MEINEKE
   Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
       As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
                 World without end. Amen. Amen.
CHILDREN’S MESSAGE
          Preschool and Elementary aged children are invited to
        Children's Worship. They will return during the final hymn.

                         I may not be all that you are,
                          I may not be a shining star,
                                But what I am,
                   I thank the Lord for making me His child.

Welcome to Downtown, one of 3 worshiping communities of First
 United Methodist Church Lexington. Whether this is your first Sunday
   here or your hundredth, it is no accident that we are here together
 today. If you are visiting Lexington, we are so glad to be part of your
   time in the bluegrass. If you are new to the area and looking for a
church home, please let a greeter or member of staff know if you have
 questions. Our pastors would love the chance to have a conversation
                       and get to know you better.

you were to compare Jesus to something you need
everyday, what would you choose? Draw it here.

Draw a picture of someone you want to pray for.
In 2 Samuel 18, King David cries and is very sad
because of some hard things his family faced. Finish
the drawing of the tear drops. Inside the tears,
write or draw some things you might feel sad about
and want to share with God.
