The theme for this year’s festival is As we consider the future of the planet and
Into the Woods – and Beyond… humanity itself, we want to explore what it
means to be part of an ecosystem – to delve
into humanity’s relationship with the earth
and the land around us, to understand our
connections to it and to each other, in the hope
of moving through difficult times and beyond,
into a (hopefully) bright future.

SEASONS:
NORWAY & The Reading Fringe Festival regularly
DÜSSELDORF welcomes acts from across our global
community, including Russia, Italy,
Canada, Puerto Rico and Spain.
Over the past three years, in celebration of
Reading’s friendship with Düsseldorf we have
been collaborating with award-winning artists
Emil Schult & Emma Nilsson from our twin town.
Det Andre Teatret
This year we will be entertained by critically
acclaimed band the Parakeets, experience
human sculpture with HARTMANNMUELLER,
explore haunting soundscapes with Warped
Type, and example the connectivity between
art, music, and digital culture in the Eurasia
Project ft Emil Schult & Emma Nilsson. We
also welcome back old friends Blue Goat
Theatre, urban artist KJ263, and classical
guitarist Arturo Castro Nogueras.
HARTMANNMUELLER
Last year, our curator Fiona Talkington helped
us lay the foundations of a new friendship
with Norway, when we welcomed ice musician
Terje Isungset to perform in the town.
This year, we play host to world renowned
composer Thomas Strønen, internationally
acclaimed improv group Det Andre Teatret
and playwright Joakim Gunby.
We look forward to working with
this year’s guests, and adding to our
International Seasons in future years.CONVERSATIONS
