DEVELOPING CAREER
        AWARENESS
• Students reflect on all work experience and
social action by keeping a digital diary - Reach +
• Part of TY funds goes to the purchase of Reach+,
a digital platform that students use for 3 years
• TY students work mostly on developing
awareness about vocational identity through self
  assessment and reflection, vocational testing
and class discussion. There is also a big emphasis
on subject choice for Leaving Certificate
• In 5th and 6th year, students spend time
  developing their knowledge about further
  education, apprenticeships, 3rd level education,
  public jobs, funding etc..

GARBALLY COLLEGE TRANSITION YEAR 2021/2022
• Transition Year is a one-year
               school programme between
               Junior and Senior Cycle.
             • It is designed to act as a bridge
TRANSITION between the two by facilitating
               the smooth transition from the
     YEAR more dependent learning of
the Junior Cycle to the more
               independent self-directed
               learning required for the Senior
               Cycle
