Free Resources to Support Organic Waste Collection
A s of January 1 , 201 9 State law (A B 1 826) now requires all businesses with four
or more cubic y ards of weekly trash serv ice to separate food scraps, food soiled
paper, and plant debris for separate organics collection. Establishing an organics
collection program puts y our business in compliance with the law, helps
California and Dublin achiev e waste reduction goals, and has the potential to sav e
y our business money on ov erall material collection costs. Items acceptable for
organics collection:

serv ice and receiv e the following free assistance:
Waste assessments to determine y our organics collection serv ice needs.
Cost sav ings estimate (organics collection serv ice costs half as much as
trash).
Indoor food waste/organics collection containers (limited quantity ).
Program set up and staff training.
Organics posters and container decals.
On-going support to keep y our program running smoothly .
For a limited time, A lameda County Waste Management A uthority is offering free
indoor bins to qualify ing A lameda County businesses for the collection of food
scraps, compostable paper and plant debris ("organics"). A v ariety of containers
and lids are av ailable-up to a v alue of $500 per approv ed site. Y ou can also
request free stickers to place on y our indoor recy cling, organics or garbage
containers to help with proper sorting.

Startup Grind - Dublin Chapter inv ites y ou to attend their nex t "fireside chat" and
learn about equity crowdfunding with Wefunder, the largest regulation
crowdfunding platform in the U.S. Jonny Price, Business Director at Wefunder,
will talk about equity crowdfunding as an option for startups to raise capital. It's a
relativ ely new way for startups to access capital, and has been gaining traction
and credibility with the changes in recent regulations. Tickets are $1 0 in adv ance
or $20 at the door and can be purchased online.

A lso new to the Ulferts Shopping Center is Korean Wav e, or K-Wav e, which
carries the hottest Korean brands of ginseng, cosmetics, fashion, clothing,

88 Bao Bao opened recently at Fallon Gateway (3880 Fallon Gateway ). This
quick-serv ice Chinese dim sum restaurant offers a v ariety of steamed dumplings,
fried dumplings, buns and other items.
T hirsty Bay T ap 'N Pour, a new self-serv e craft beer bar,
opened in January at 5286 Iron Horse Parkway , walking distance
from the Dublin/Pleasanton BA RT Station. Customers receiv e a
wristband that allows them to draw from any one of the 35 craft
beers and four wines on tap. They also serv e bar snacks.

Am azing Basil at Fallon Gateway (391 6 Fallon Road) is opening soon. This new
A sian Fusion restaurant offers pho, garlic noodles and boba tea.
Rahm a Mediterranean Grill at 7 1 98 Dublin Blv d (the former site of Rahma
Mediterranean Market that mov ed to 7 1 1 1 V illage Parkway earlier this y ear) is
ex pected to open by the end of this y ear. The fast-casual Mediterranean
restaurant will serv e fried chicken, shawrma plates and wraps.
Elegance at Dublin - Construction is underway at 7 601 A mador V alley Blv d.
(across from the Dublin Senior Center) for a new memory care and assisted liv ing
facility . Elegance at Dublin will offer memory care and 48 assisted liv ing
apartments and is ex pected to open by the end 201 9. Milestone Retirement
Communities plans to hire about 7 0 employ ees to staff the senior liv ing
community .
360 Fitness Superstore has signed a lease for the former Combat Sports
A cademy site on Dublin Blv d. The business currently has two stores, one in
Walnut Creek and one in San Rafael. They are a family owned establishment since
1 981 and they specialize in selling fitness equipment. They are ex pected to open
in the coming months.
IKEA recently receiv ed approv al to dev elop an IKEA store along with 92,000
square feet of new retail and restaurants on their property at the corner of I-580
and Hacienda Driv e.
