Dear Parents,
I would like to introduce the Golden Eagle Taekwondo after School Program and myself to you
and your family. I am a firm believer that the learning should not stop when the school bell rings and am
extremely proud of our after school program which embraces this philosophy. The staff here at Golden
Eagle Taekwondo has helped create an atmosphere where children not only enjoy learning, but also grants
them the opportunity to learn to become leaders.
Unfortunately, today our society is flooded with followers, a learned characteristic usually picked
up during the school age years. Children that do not possess a strong sense of self-confidence will often
allow others to dictate what they think, what they say, will wear, and all too often, what their futures will
eventually become. My goal is to help your child obtain the confidence and skills to overcome peer
pressure, ultimately helping them to become future leaders. We work with them to not only assist them by
boosting their self-confidence through daily exercise and physical activity, but also by integrating the
planning of future goals and teaching them how to successfully obtain them.
Additionally, many of today’s children seem to have a sense of entitlement. We work diligently at
Golden Eagle Taekwondo to teach them the work and reward system. This system with effort can become
a positive habit that will help them not only in their current schoolwork, but ultimately throughout the rest
of their lives.
Courtesy and the respect of others is a basic element of our philosophy at Golden Eagle
Taekwondo, and something that is missing in many of the traditional settings. The adults at our facility
practice common courtesies such as speaking to a child only while making eye contact, always using “Sir”
or “Ma’am” when addressing others, in addition to implementing simple courtesies such as “please” and
“thank you” when speaking. In return, our instructors expect nothing less from our kids. This habit
eventually filters its way into a child’s daily life, which enhances their social interactions for a lifetime.

Program Regulations
To help us keep your child safe while riding the school bus to our facilities, please ensure they
understand the regulations for safe bus conduct which include:
- Respect and Follow the drivers directions at all times
- Wear your seatbelt and remain seated at all times
- Do not talks on the bus or van or in the parking lot while unloading
For parents who pay In-School on a weekly and bi-weekly basis, tuition is due on the Friday
before your next payment interval. If payment is not received by the Tuesday following your
Friday due date and you have not made arrangements with the School Director for payment, then
transportation and child cares services cannot be provided for your child. For parents who pay In-
School on a monthly basis, tuition is due on the 1st of the month, if payment is not received by the

services cannot be provided for your child. Checks can be made payable to “Golden Eagle
Taekwondo”.
Please understand that we only have a limited number of spots in our After School Program and
your payment guarantees your child’s place in our program. So we cannot accommodate refunds
for any day your child is absent from our program.
It is recommended that you provide your child with a snack to eat while at the After School
Program. If one is provided please make sure they are told not to eat it until they are at GETKD.
We request that you do not provide your child with soda or candy due to the high sugar/caffeine
content.
We provide students with an assisted and supervised homework time every day.
Students are required to wear their Taekwondo Uniform to all classes. So it is important to bring it
every day.
Pick-up time for students is 6:00 PM, with a 15 minute grace period, granted only on the first full
week of school. Students that have not been picked up by 6:00 PM are required to stay in
taekwondo class and will not be allowed to wait in the lobby area, unless the parent has notified us
otherwise.
When you come to pick up your child, please notify the instructor and let them know the name of
your child. If you have someone coming to pick up your child not is not listed on our authorized
pick list it is important you call ahead and let the instructor know, otherwise we will not be able to

Student Regulations
1. Students who upon entering the school shall put away all bags and coats and sit quietly and start
on homework. (See Homework Policy)
2. No fighting and no arguing with each other or any adult.
3. No horseplay or other rowdy disruptive behavior is permitted.
4. No foul or other inferior language will be tolerated and no gum.
5. No toy weapons of any kind will be allowed.
6. Students are at all times to follow discretion and instruction of the program director, or
Taekwondo instructor while under their guidance.
7. Students are to use the cubby in the room area for bags and coats.
8. GETKD is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
9. Acts of dishonesty, deception, deceit or other improper behavior shall result in the student’s
termination from the program. This is a ZERO tolerance policy.
10. Students may not bring buddies along with them to “hang out” while in the program. Furthermore,
students may not have friends call upon them while in the program. Your friend(s) will be
instructed to go home.
11. Students may not leave the program early without written or verbal consent from the parents or
legal guardians. Parents or legal guardians must provide written notice if someone other than the
authorized parent is picking up the child from the program.
12. There will be ZERO tolerance regarding any drug or possession of any narcotic into the GETKD
after School Program Facilities. This will result in an automatic dismissal.
13. Students are not to leave the school premises during the After School Program. (In case of
emergency or warranted circumstances, student will be accompanied by a counselor or staff
member of the GETKD)
14. When homework is completed, student is to remain quiet until Taekwondo class begins or may go
play with their peers with permission from a counselor, instructor, or staff member.
15. The computer is accessible with permission and proper supervision from the GETKD teaching

Homework Policy
Our objective through our After School program is to provide an environment whereby students can
learn and develop through their own academic curriculum and our Taekwondo program. We will make
every effort to monitor and check all homework, but we are limited to the extent as to what homework
assignments were assigned as communicated by the student. If a student does not cooperate with our staff,
then we cannot be held responsible for the lack of completion of homework. Our objective is to help the
student complete his/her homework through our environment and support of our staff. We provide the
conditions for which the child can achieve. We cannot be placed in a position of responsibility for lack of
completion or not able to understand their homework assignments. This requires a different approach and
is not within the scope of our program. We will notify you in the event that the student seems
disinterested in homework, or is uncooperative in our program.
Inclement Weather Policy
The After School program will be closed in the event that the public school systems are closed for the
day. In case of early closing due to inclement weather, the after school program will start early. We will
pick the students up early and remain the same After School program. If school is opening late, then there
will be normal after school programming.
Release of Children
Children will be released only to those individuals whose names are recorded on the enrollment forms.
All authorized persons must be 18 years of age or older. Other persons not on the form must have a
written authorization signed by the parent and followed up with a verbal authorization from the parent.
All persons are subject to proof of identification. If the school has not obtained a verbal follow-up
authorization from the parent, the child will not be released.
Children MUST be signed out daily.
Snacks
Our after-school program includes a 15 to 20 minute snack break in its schedule. We are not a

The choice we recommend is that you provide individually sealed snacks on a regular basis. If this
is the option you chose you MUST provide a plastic shoebox size container with your child’s name on it
to keep their snacks in.
There is a refrigerator for the ASP students to keep drink bottles in.
Changes
Our school needs to be immediately notified of changes in telephone numbers (home or work), job,
family status, custody changes, doctors and authorized persons to pick up your child.
Holidays
Our school is closed for all National holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day,
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years, Good Friday and Labor Day. Our school may also be
closed on occasion for the day prior to, or day following a holiday. These closings will be posted
well in advance. (Please see the our school website www.getkd.com)
Illness
Children who become ill during the day may not remain at the school. Parents will be called to
pick up the child as soon as possible. To prevent the spread of infections, please keep your child
home when he/she has an elevated temperature, upset stomach, diarrhea, has a contagious
condition such as pink eye, chicken pox, head lice, or has a skin infection or serious cold. Even
when you feel your child “is not that sick” your child will need to be symptom free for 24 hours
before returning to our school. Please notify the school if your child will be absent from their
academic school and our facility as well as report all illnesses immediately.
Medication
Our school does not administer medication. Parents are welcome to come to the school during
operating hours and give the needed medication(s) to their child.
Injuries
If your child is injured at school, the only treatment that is provided is cleansing with soap and
water, ice, Band-Aid(s) and TLC. Individual “accident and incident” reports are given to the
parent to inform them of the injury. An injury that requires more than the basics previously listed

in all non-emergency situations. A copy of your child’s insurance card is required. WE ARE NOT

PHOTO WAIVER FORM
Golden Eagle Taekwondo has photographed different moments of training, testing, competition,
school events, trips, etc. Golden Eagle Taekwondo would like to post these pictures to a photo gallery on
the school website at www.getkd.com. In order to post a child’s picture on the website, we need a photo
waiver signed by anyone over 18, or for those under 18, a parent/guardian needs to sign the form. If there
is a group photo, a signed waiver for every child in the photo needs to be on file in order to post the
picture. Photographs taken at Golden Eagle Taekwondo events may be used in future public materials
(including, but not limited to, posters, brochures, advertisements, videos, and the school’s website.)

AGREEMENT OF RULES FOR AFTER-SCHOOL AND DROP-IN PROGRAM
This Agreement of Rules (Agreement) is between the person or persons signing this Agreement
(“You” or “Your”) and Golden Eagle Taekwondo. You agree to all the terms and conditions, both written
and printed, of this agreement.
WE ARE NOT A DAYCARE NOR DO WE PROVIDE PRIMARY INSURANCE

Please call Golden Eagle Taekwondo at 704-992-9556 as early as possible if your child will be
absent from after-school pick-up
If your child is absent full payment for the week is still due
Payment for the after-school program is not due if school is not in session
To keep traffic and study areas open, we ask that all parents wait in the front area of the school
after signing your child out and making a staff member aware of your child(s) pick-up
We reserve the right to dismiss anyone from our program for not following rules
Please pick up your child on time
Remember that we are not responsible for your child’s belongings. Keep this in mind when
sending your child to school with expensive items that could be broken or lost. Be sure to label all
belongings with your child’s name clearly and legibly.
Treat your school respectfully and professionally
Be prompt with payments and considerate of non-working hours
Adhere to all policies and read any and all information sent home
Participate in school activities when at all possible
Arrange a backup plan for when your child is sick or our school is closed
Appreciate that our school cares for a group of children
Share information that will assist us in caring for your child (example being out of town for an
extended period of time, changes in home life, deaths in family or death of friend.) Any of these

understand that my child(ren) can and will be removed from the program if all of the above rules are not
complied with. I further agree to hold Golden Eagle Taekwondo (hereinafter called “GETKD”) and/or
any of its nominees, harmless from and against any and all liability as to any problems that could arise.
Regardless of fault, GETKD is not responsible for loss of, or damage to, any property left behind by my
child. You hereby assume all risk of such loss or damage and agree to defend, indemnify and hold
GETKD harmless from all claims. I understand and agree that I will pay for all costs and/or expenses of
any kind for damages that may be caused by my child.
I agree that my insurance coverage, if valid and collectable, will be primary and responsible for handling,
defending and paying all third-party claims, if any, should they arise. (GETKD does not provide you or
your child with insurance coverage.)
