4 Itinerary DAY 1 mon JOHANNESBURG Spend a full day exploring Soweto and surrounds. The tour starts with a visit to the prestigious Apartheid Museum. From here you will continue to Soweto for a tour through this vibrant township. Continue to the Liliesleaf Heritage Site for a tour. Once known as Liliesleaf Farm, this fascinating heritage site is closely linked to the Rivonia Treason Trial that led to Nelson Mandela’s incarceration.

Return to your hotel for overnight. DAY 2 tues : JOHANNESBURG – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK [BD] This morning you will be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport for your onward flight to Mpumalanga (unescorted). On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your lodge. After freshening up, enter the world famous Kruger National Park and spend the afternoon game viewing in your closed touring vehicle. The park offers some of the best game viewing and wildlife opportunities in the world. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. DAY 3 wed KRUGER NATIONAL PARK [BD] The day begins with early morning coffee or tea, followed by a thrilling open vehicle game drive (with an English speaking game ranger) through Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast.

Your guide will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the Big 5, general game and prolific bird life. Return to the lodge for lunch (own account) and a short siesta. DAY 4 thurs MPUMALANGA [BD] Enjoy breakfast before setting out to explore the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the most scenic routes in the region, offering glorious views, spectacular landscapes and exquisite waterfalls. 6 Itinerary DAY 1 SUN JOHANNESBURG On arrival in Johannesburg at OR Tambo International Airport, you’ll be met by your representative and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure & unescorted. At 19h00 we will meet up at reception for a briefing on the tour and a chance to meet fellow travellers. DAY 2 MON JOHANNESBURG – MPUMALANGA [B] Depart Johannesburg after breakfast and head for Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, for a short orientation tour, before continuing to the Mpumalanga Province. Dropping several hundred feet into the lush subtropical region of the Lowveld, we travel to Hazyview, the safari hub of the Kruger National Park.

DAY 3 TUES MPUMALANGA [B] After an early morning breakfast, we’ll drive along the spectacular “Panorama Route”, offering views of amazing scenery including the 26 kilometre-long Blyde River Canyon (home to the Three Rondavels), Bourke’s Luck Potholes’ and historic God’s Window, a breathtaking view (weather permitting) of the edge of the escarpment taking in the Kruger National Park. We arrive back in Hazyview in the early afternoon, where the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or join an afternoon game experience (optional and for own account).

DAY 4 WED MPUMALANGA [B] Enjoy an early morning game drive (in open safari vehicle) in the Kruger National Park with a packed breakfast.

Kruger is one of the world’s greatest national parks, home to a stunning array of wildlife. Search for the ‘Big Five’ (rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, and elephant) as well as prolific birdlife and numerous other game. The afternoon is at leisure at your hotel. Late afternoon open vehicle game drives are available (optional & for own account). DAY 5 THURS , MPUMALANGA – SWAZILAND [BLD] This morning we travel to Swaziland, an independent Kingdom within the borders of South Africa. DAY 7 SAT ZULULAND – DURBAN (UMHLANGA) [B] This morning we will join a cruise on Lake St Lucia (depending on favourable weather conditions) before departing for Durban. Our journey takes us past traditional Zulu Kraals, Eucalyptus plantations and sugar cane fields. We arrive early afternoon and the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the golden beaches of the Indian Ocean.

7 SOUTH AFRICA FRANSCHHOEK WINELANDS OPTION You will have the opportunity to maximise your experience of picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality and fine wines, thereafter rejoining the tour with minimum disruption.

DAY 8 SUN DURBAN (UMHLANGA) – KNYSNA [BD] After breakfast, transfer to Durban (Umhlanga) airport for the short southward flight to Port Elizabeth, where we will be met by our representative and once everyone has arrived, we set off to visit the spectacularly beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting). Overnight in Knysna. DAY 9 MON KNYSNA [BL] After a leisurely breakfast we’ll enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where we can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch under the milkwood trees.

The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town. DAY 10 TUES KNYSNA – OUDTSHOORN [BL] Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, known as the “ostrich capital” and the centre of the world’s Ostrich farming industry. We’ll visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before taking a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

DAY 11 WED OUDTSHOORN – cape town [B] � There is an option (for own account and subject to availability) to enjoy an early morning Meerkat Safari. After breakfast, the journey continues through the ‘Little Karoo’ to Barrydale, to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers (subject to the school being open). Continue to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards. Transfer to Cape Town. DAY 12 thurs CAPE TOWN (UNESCORTED) [BD] Full day of leisure. Authentic dinner and show. Meerkat Safari, Oudtshoorn Option Experience an early morning Meerkat Safari in Oudtshoorn. Witness these incredible wild habituated creatures emerging out of their burrows in time to soak up the sun. DAY 2 tues PRINCE ALBERT – OUDTSHOORN [BD] After breakfast, enjoy a spectacular drive through the Swartberg Mountains to Oudtshoorn. Enjoy a tour of the Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. DAY 3 wed OUDTSHOORN – KNYSNA [BL] Travel over the Outeniqua Pass via George and Wilderness to Knysna. Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch under the milkwood trees. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Knysna. DAY 4 thurs KNYSNA [B] Today you’ll explore the Knysna area.

Your journey will include a visit to the Garden of Eden, set in the lush, green, indigenous Knysna forest, and to Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, where you will be able to see a variety of primates, roaming free in the forest. The tour continues to the famous Eastern Head for spectacular views of the Knysna Heads (weather permitting) and to Brenton on Sea, a breathtaking holiday location. Rest of the day at leisure. DAY 5 fri KNYSNA – TSITSIKAMMA [B] Travel to Plettenberg Bay and visit Birds of Eden sanctuary, the biggest single free flight aviary in the world. Continue to Bloukrans Bridge, currently offering the highest commercially operated bungy jump in the world. Visit the Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting). Overnight in the Tsitsikamma area. DAY 6 Sat TSITSIKAMMA – PORT ELIZABETH [B] Head eastwards along the Tsitsikamma Forest to Port Elizabeth. Enjoy a city orientation tour of Port Elizabeth, where the tour ends on arrival. Guests may disembark, on request, at Port Elizabeth Airport.
