SPA CONCEPTS

Location:
Whether it be located in an urban setting in a popular city or in an inspiring area of natural beauty,
this category is aimed both at exclusive hotel spa concepts at a five-star level and at extraordinary
day-spa concepts featuring innovations that go above and beyond the conventional wellness
programme.

Design and philosophy:
The appealing architecture and interior design should offer a clear continuation of the leitmotif
of the spa concept (purist, exotic, luxurious etc.). The focus should be on holistic wellness and a
sustainable relaxation experience. The experience should begin with an introductory gesture such
as a foot bath or massage and the provision of healthy snacks in order to transform the spa stay
into a luxurious ritual for all the senses.

Spa area:
The excellently equipped treatment rooms are state of the art. In addition to a range of relaxation,
massage and beauty booths, there are also inviting quiet zones, pool and sauna facilities and a
fitness area.

Spa programme:
Luxurious wellness: authentic treatments with a link to the region and an extensive range of
problem-solving programmes (including anti-ageing and anti-cellulite) should be standard, as
should a team of excellently trained specialists and the use of special product lines. Supplemental
programmes for the body and mind and/or exclusive retreats on the spa programme are icing on
the cake.

Spa cuisine:
This should satisfy the highest gourmet standards. Furthermore, the menu and cuisine should
feature modern nutrition concepts with whole foods and personalised diets that take individual
dietary needs and intolerances into account.

MEDICAL & HEALTH CONCEPTS

MEDICAL & HEALTH CONCEPTS – as a resort and institute

Location:
Be it an extraordinary medical day-spa concept or a luxurious health resort, this category is
aimed at exclusive and holistic health concepts that take a life-changing approach. In addition
to professional check-ups, analyses and individual medical support, there should also be a
programme of coaching and inspirational workshops, readings and courses to help keep mind
and body in balance. The aim is to actively fashion practical lifestyles that are both aware and
sustainable, in order to bring health, well-being and performance into harmony.

Design and philosophy:
The five-star establishment features modern architecture that is also practical, making use of
high-quality materials and excellent contemporary design. The medical treatments are provided
in an ambience that is far removed from the clinical atmosphere found in a hospital. The feel-good
character is reinforced by appealing lighting, music and scent concepts that help guests staying
there to leave their everyday lives behind and undertake a (shorter or longer) journey into a world
of calm, inspiration, healing and relaxation.

Spa & medical area:
In addition to a range of relaxation, massage and beauty booths, there are also medical examination
rooms and inviting quiet zones. Outdoor and fitness areas would be an ideal supplement to this.

Medical & health programme:
Medical diagnostics and therapies supplement the extraordinary programme on offer for the
body and mind and the range of holistic coaching opportunities. These offer new stimuli that
have a sustainable impact on everyday life. Holistic treatments and a portfolio of problem-solving
programmes (including anti-ageing, detox, sleep therapy and anti-cellulite) should be part of the
standard range of services, while a team of excellently trained doctors and specialists and the
use of special product lines is also a must. Furthermore, the resort should offer exclusive retreats
and guest experts from the fields of yoga, nutrition, lifestyle, meditation, energy work and anti-
burnout.

Spa cuisine:
This should satisfy the highest gourmet standards. Furthermore, the menu and cuisine should
feature modern nutrition concepts with whole foods and personalised diets that take individual
dietary needs and intolerances into account.
