Special Education Needs and Disabilities
Please look out for the SEND symbol for our specialist SEND providers & providers who are
putting on a specific SEND session:

One of Solihull Council’s main strategies is to support children and young people with SEND
to have the best life possible. We would like children with SEND to be able to access HAF
opportunities throughout the borough and take part in engaging and enriching activities
which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider
educational attainment.

Some of our organisations are due to attend specialist SEND training sessions in March &
April, please look out for the training they have completed. The details of the training are:

Systems & Processes – This training covers medication processes, questions to ask on
your registration forms, the importance of multi-agency working, GDPR, Health & Safety,
Risk Assessment, STEP.

Inclusive Activities – This training covers practical tools to support inclusive delivery of
physical activities, explore creative ideas to support disabled people to be more active,
understand how to apply Activity Alliance's Ten Principles, access resources to support your
activity sessions.

Inclusive Groups - Inclusive Groups Workshop gives Volunteers, Coaches & Community
Workers valuable insight and the right tools to be able to ensure their activities at their club
or group is more inclusive and accessible to the wider community. This workshop also
provides expert case studies and credible signposting to how your group can become more
inclusive in your community.
