Dear West Ridge Families,

On behalf of the West Ridge Staff, I would like to welcome you to West Ridge Elementary. My name is Lisa Hof-
feld and I am the principal at West Ridge. I look forward to meeting our incoming first graders, new students and
catching up with our returning students.

The beginning of the year is always full of fun and excitement. In order to help streamline information, we have put
together this student handbook to hopefully answer most of your questions and provide you with information need-
ed for the upcoming school year.

The Post Falls School District encourages you to visit their website to view their back to school information for all
Post Falls Students at www.pfsd.com.

We look forward to partnering with you to make sure your child’s school year is successful.
One way to get involved in the school is by joining our Parent Advisory Group. It will meet every other month
with the goal of promoting a home/school partnership. All parents are encouraged to attend. We also welcome par-
ent and community volunteers in our classrooms and library.

Please also read, sign and return the following forms:
• Registration Form (all students)
• Internet use permission
• Free and Reduced Lunch form if applying
• Title 1 student compact (all Students)

Sincerely,

Lisa Hoffeld
Principal

youngsters more productive in the classroom. We recommend that
children be prepared each day for the weather. On snowy days,
boots, hats and mittens are a must. In extreme weather
conditions, children will be kept inside.

                                              West Ridge Cell Phone Rules
• Cell phones need to be in a backpack at all mes and not used during school hours. Cell phones can come out of
backpacks once off school property. If a student needs to call a parent during school hours, they need to get a
pass from their teacher and call from the school phone.
• The school is not responsible for any cell phone that is lost, stolen or damaged at school. We find that if students
don’t show off their cell phones, none of the prior things men oned tend to happen to them.
• Students that have their cell phones out whether they are using them or not:
    1. 1st offense: note sent home signed by parents
    2. 2nd offense: cell phone is taken and must be picked up by the parent in the office.

If you want your child to have a cell phone at school, please talk to your child about the school rules around having
a cell phone at school and the proper use of their cell phone.

Please leave personal items at home such as; toys, basketballs, footballs, trading cards, electronic games and de-
vices, makeup and perfume.
