Day 1 : Following collection from home, travel to Berkshire and the Hilton Bracknell Hotel for
the four night stay including dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2 - Start the day with a visit to historic Winchester where Jane Austen died in 1817 and
is buried. Travel to visit Jane Austen's house at Chawton, near Alton where she lived in a
charming red brick 17th Century house, now a museum housing an extensive collection of her
works and memorabilia.
Day 3 - Drive east to the picturesque riverside town of Henley-on-Thames, home of the
famous Rowing regatta. After obtaining lunch, enjoy a cruise following the regatta course
with on board commentary.
Day 4 - Highclere Castle is today's destination, a country house in 'High Elizabethan' style
and the estate covers 6000 acres. It is the country seat of the Herbert family; the Earls of
Carnarvon and the parklands were designed by Capability Brown. Explore the castle, gardens
and grounds to see how life was around 100 years ago, as portrayed by 'Downton Abbey'.
Day 5 - Travel back to East Anglia where the door to door collection service will be waiting to
return you home.

ACCOMMODATION Double and twin rooms are available plus a small number of rooms for sole occupancy however these do carry a supplement of £110. There are four dinners and four breakfast included. SPECIAL REQUESTS Any dietary and mobility requirements are noted and all requests sent to Galloways who will confirm if these are possible before accepting the booking. PAYMENT An initial deposit of £75 per person is due at the time of booking, this is non refundable unless the holiday is cancelled by Galloways. The final balance is due 12 weeks before departure.
