6 Sustaining Growth

  One man’s monumental role
Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew was the architect of modern Singapore, who oversaw its transformation
from a colonial trading post into a bustling global economic powerhouse. Mr Lee passed away on Monday, 23 March 2015,
  aged 91.

As flags flew at half-mast all across Singapore to mark seven days of national mourning, Keppel paused to remember
Mr Lee’s monumental legacy. In particular, Mr Lee’s foresight and unrelenting determination was instrumental in leading and
encouraging Singapore and Singaporean companies to succeed against the odds and beyond all expectations.
