INFORMATION BULLETIN 1
The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation & the Catalonian Swimming Federation has the great
pleasure to invite you to the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019 #8 Barcelona (Spain)
meet, to be held from 31st May to 02nd June 2019.
The following information has been designed to assist your National Federation in attending this
event.

EVENT INFORMATION
Dates
From 31st May to 02nd June 2019 the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation together with the
Catalonian Swimming Federation will organise in Barcelona within the FINA Artistic Swimming
World Series, the Spanish Open Artistic Swimming – Trofeo Infantas de España.
Venue
The competition will be held at Piscina Sant Jordi, 50m indoor pool.
Address: c/ Paris, 114 – 08029.
Pool sizes: 50 x 25m, 2.5– 2.8m depth
Seating capacity: 1800 spectators
Distances to. . . Airport: 15.3 km (25 minutes)
Train station: 1.8 km (5 minutes)
City centre: 2.8 km (7 minutes)
2/7COMPETITION INFORMATION.
Competition rules
As an event of the FINA AS World Series, the event will be organized according the FINAASWS
Regulations.
Category: Senior for all competitors
This competition will be OPEN for the participation of foreign clubs or national teams. The
competition will be composed of Technical routines (Solo, Mixed Duet, Duet and Team) and Free
routines (Solo, Mixed Duet, Duet, Team, Combination and Highlight).
Entries: Every club or national team is allowed to enter 2 solos, 2 duets, 2 mixed duets, 1 team,
1 combination and 1 highlight routine. Every swimmer is allowed to compete in 1 solo, 1
duet/mixed duet, 1 team, 1 combination and 1 highlight.
Competition format: There will be direct finals for all events. (All routines will be swum once).
Technical Officials: Every participating NF must bring a minimum of one A or G FINA judge and
a maximum of two to every meet they enter. An A judge will be given priority over G judges and
all FINA judges must have successfully passed the Judges Exam administered at a FINA Artistic
Swimming Judges Certification in School in 2018, and the 2018 on line exam and be on
the current FINA List. The list of judges for each competition must be sent in advance to the FINA
office.
Practice judges are accepted at all events of the Series, maximum one judge per Federation.
Neutral Judges: Neutral Judges are invited to apply to the OC to attend World Series. In the event
of low foreign participation in a ASWS Leg FINA may appoint one (1) or two (2) neutral judges to
ensure a balance between the judges’ nationalities
National Federation judges may be used if they have FINA status or have passed the Advanced
Exam.
Draws: will be according to the current rules (SS.13.7) and will be done at the team managers
meeting on the 24th May 2019.
Results: will be according to FINA Rules (SS.20.2.1)

considering the deadlines for the preliminary and final entries.
The Organizing Committee will produce accreditations with names and pictures.

3/7Trainings
The OC provides training times to the teams from Wednesday 29th May in the afternoon, but if
some teams require one or two previous days, you may ask special conditions. The specific
training schedule for each team for the days before the competition will be send by e-mail to the
contact details.
Once the competition is started there will be a once through music training before each
competition session if it’s possible.
Technical meeting.
On Thursday May 30th 2019, at 19:00, the OC shall organize a Technical Meeting to remind all
those technical aspects related to the specific rules and regulations of the competition.
At this meeting there will be present representatives of the teams as well as the FINA TASC
Delegate.

According to the FINA DC Rules and the WADA International Standards.
Music.
We would appreciate if you could send all your music files either in .mp3 or .wav to the following
e- mail address: artistica@natacio.cat
The files should be named as following:
Senior_Event_Country_one swimmer last name (make sure not to have blank spaces or special
characters).
Examples: Senior_DuetTech_Spain_Martínez
Senior_TeamFree_Spain_Garcia
It would be fantastic if we have them Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019.
At the competition one CD for each registered routine must be given to the music master of the
competition. This CD must be properly identified (according FINA rules).
All coaches should have another copy of the music on a CD as backup.
Results.
Results will be according to FINA Rules (SS.20.2.1). You will find all start lists and the results of
the competition in the web immediately after the draws and the events: www.rfen.es click into
“Artística”, then “Resultados” and click for this competition or directly in the competition poster.
Scoring.
Scoring will be according to the FINA Rules (SS 17)
Rankings & Awards.
According to the FINA Rules SS 20.2.1.
There will be two qualifications: national and international, according to the best scoring got in 1
solo tech, 1 solo free, 1 duet tech, 1 duet free, 1 mixed duet tech, 1 mixed duet free, 1 team tech,
1 team free, 1 combination and 1 Highlight per club or national team.
There will be two awards: national and international (Spanish Open). Awards will be given to the
three best Solo tech, Solo Free, Duet Tech, Duet Free, Mixed Duet Tech, Mixed Duet Free, Team
Tech, Team Free, Free Combination and Highlight Routines, including reserves in all the events,
and the Trophy for the club/national team first qualified in the national and international
qualification.

The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation will provide Visa Assistance. If your team needs Visa
please send us the Visa Form enclosed

ACCOMMODATION AND LOCAL TRANSPORT
Accommodation.
Following rates are for all-inclusive packages including accommodation in full board and local
transports required.

Local Transport.
The Organizing Committee organizes free transportation from Barcelona airport and Barcelona
Sants train station to official hotels and shuttle from Eurohotel Gran Via Fira to the venue only for
teams accommodated at the official hotels.

EXHIBITION GALA
On Sunday 2nd June afternoon, we organize an Exhibition Gala.
Solo, duet, trio, accessories, improvisations, everything is allowed to make this Exhibition Gala a
spectacular show to promote our sport.
In order to organize the Exhibition Gala in the best conditions, the OC will send additional
information about what they need for the Exhibition Gala in early April.
Each federation attending the event should be asked to come prepared with at least
one Exhibition Gala Show routine no rules, make up welcome, accessories welcome, make up
costumes and accessories encouraged.
These are different routines than the competition routines and it is providing the athlete with a
moment to shine and show their personalities.
6/7GALA DINNER
The Organizing Committee is organizing a Gala Dinner for all delegations that will be held on
Friday, 31st May, 2019. More information will be given at your arrival in Barcelona.
