Context
        The Associazione Culturale “Annarosa Taddei” is organizing its sixth
“International Competition for young musicians” open to pianists, violinists and
cellists of any nationality, between the ages of 18 and 30.
The Associazione will award three Prizes for the finalists.

There are 3 stages to the competition;

      First & Second Round: all 15 candidates will perform in these two Rounds,
      held on two different days
      Final Round: 3 selected finalists will perform for the winning Prizes

Please see below for instructions to enter the Competition.

Registrations start on May 15th, 2018, and must be submitted no later than
September 15th, 2018

Previous winners are not allowed to enter the competition

In order to register the participants must send their CV and registration information
via email to the following address : ataddei92@gmail.com

A maximum of 15 musicians will be allowed to participate based on the profiles
submitted. The entrants will be notified no later than September 25th 2018.

The competition entry fee of 30 euro is payable via wire transfer to Associazione
Culturale “Annarosa Taddei” via the following bank details :

Payment must be made by October 10th, 2018 and is non-refundable.
Competition Rules

Before each round, candidates must present a valid form of ID.
All participants must submit 5 clear copies of their music program (music score) to
the Jury before each round.
With the exception of the violinists and cellists in the second round, all music must
be played by heart.
The Associazione will provide a schedule to the participants with timings on when
they can use the Auditorium for practice.
For the second round, in case it is required, the pianist Bo Price will be available for
duo performances

                               Competition Rounds

Competition Round 1 – November 21th, 2018 11:00 a.m. (Sala Casella)

Musicians are required to play a program of their choice of approximately 15
minutes. The violinists and cellists must play a programme consisting of only solo
repertoire.
They will then receive a score from the first jury
All participants will be admitted to the second round of the competition

Competition Round 2 – November 23th, 2018 11:00 a.m. (Sala Casella)

Musicians are required to play a program of their choice of approximately 20
minutes. The violinist’s and cellist’s programme must consist of only chamber
repertoire.
They will then receive a score from the second jury.
The three candidates with the highest cumulative score from the first and second
rounds will be admitted to the final round.
Competition Final – November 26th, 2017 07:00 p.m. (Teatro di Villa Torlonia)

The final round will be a performance with a Symphony Orchestra.

Pianists must choose one of the following piano Concertos:

W.A. MOZART: Piano Concerto in A major K.488

L.van BEETHOVEN: Third Piano Concerto in c minor op. 37

Violinists must choose one of the following violin Concertos:

F.MENDELSSOHN-BARTHOLDY: Violin Concerto in e minore op. 64

MAX BRUCH: Violin Concerto in g minor op. 26

Cellists must choose one of the following cello Concertos:

ROBERT SCHUMANN: Cello Concerto in a minor op. 129

F.J. HAYDN: Cello Concerto in D major Hob:VIIb:2

The jury of the final round will be composed of entirely new members.

Prizes will be awarded based on the score achieved in the final round

All rounds of the competition are open to the public.

                                        Prizes
The three finalists will be awarded the “Premio Annarosa Taddei”, as follows:

                               1st prize    5,000 EUR
                               2nd prize    2.500 EUR
                               3rd prize    1.500 EUR

The winners of the first and second prizes will also benefit from a series of concerts
throughout 2018/19 and 2019/2020. These events will be sponsored by the
Associazione “Annarosa Taddei”, Roma 3 Orchestra and other strategic partners.

A special prize of 500 EUR will be decided by the audience after the final round.
The Associazione reserves the rights to any recorded material (including but not
limited to recordings for radio, movies, CDs etc), throughout the competition.
Participants shall not claim any fees for their performances.

                                         Jury
The juries are composed of eminent Italian and International musicians and
musicologists.
The juries will provide a vote based on a score out of 100.

The juries’ decisions are final.
