1. Why should I do an In ernship at FTC?

Doing an internship is a great opportunity to invest a year of your life in serving the FTC com-
munity, developing your gifts and growing in your faith as you discover more of God’s purpose
     for your life.

     2. When does the In ernship s art?

The internship starts on 17 September 2021 with a basic induction training and runs through to
     the end of July 2022.

     3. What will I be doing as an FTC in ern?

There four key strands to the internship:

     1. Serving in a ministry placement
     2. Personal life coaching and line management
     3. Theological and leadership training
     4. International or local outreach opportunity

     1. Serving in a Ministry placement:

All areas of ministry placement involve both practical and administrative roles. For roles in-
volving children and young people an FTC DBS is required. For the current internship we would
like to o er experience in one of the following areas per candidate:

             1. Children’s Work

This involves supporting the children’s ministry co-ordinator with curriculum planning,
creative crafts and games development, engaging with children through teaching,
attending residential trips, club days and helping run outreach events.

             2. Youth Work

This role would be to support the Youth Work team by building friendship with young
people through weekly sessions, co-ordinating outings, attending residential trips and
teaching/facilitating FUSE youth sessions as well as opportunities for mentoring young
             people.

             3. Hospitality and Event Management

This involves helping support and co-ordinate di erent areas of hospitality and event
management from catering, planning, preparation, invites and co-ordinating volunteers.
There are many regular hospitality times that occur each week as well as special events
like conferences or pastor’s breakfasts and church community events. You would work
alongside the Ministry co-ordinator and the Church Administrator.

     2. Personal life coaching and line management:

This is a regular time where you will be able to meet one on one with a mentor or in a group
context to focus on spiritual formation and personal life skills by setting goals and processing
personal challenges as you nd a sense of your calling in God.

The line management times help develop professional accountability through setting goals
and constructive feedback and discussion around your ministry placement.

          3. Theology and Leadership Training:

This will take place on alternate Fridays and will involve reading prescribed books followed by
discussion and training. Over the year there will be a book review, an essay and a nal practical
project for leadership development. Leadership development will include being part of FTC
          leadership equipping times.

          4. Outreach Opportunity:

As part of the internship we would like to o er the opportunity to be part of an outreach event
either internationally or locally. Due to Covid-19 the speci c outreach opportunities will be con-
rmed once travel is allowed to commence. The outreaches may include:

                 1. Cambodia or India
                 2. Ukraine, Romania or Germany
                 3. Local partners Young Life and STEP

          4. What will a typical week look like?

FTC are o ering a Part Time internship with a commitment of 15 hours per week. A typical week
will have set blocks of time for all interns and other varied times that are dependent on the
          area of the ministry placement.

The remaining hours in the week may be used by the intern to do other part time work should
          income need to be subsidised.
