You don’t need any previous postgraduate orthodontic training or qualifications, but interest and experience
in aesthetic dentistry is an advantage.
Here’s a list of all the ‘must haves’ for your upcoming course:
• You need to bring a patient suitable to undergo treatment for the clinical components.
• Intra and extraoral photos of the patient must be submitted to the SCD Invisalign team for assessment
and approval to ensure the patient is a suitable candidate for Invisalign*.
• Your chosen patient for the clinical component must be aged 18 years or over.
• Your chosen patient must have an OPG and lateral ceph (preferably in a digital format).
• You need to bring a dental assistant along to Clinical 2 (Invisalign Principles Course only).
Ideal first case criteria would be:
Class I molars with mild crowding or spacing.
C
lass II or III molar relationship cases where the posterior occlusion is to be maintained and only anterior
aesthetics improved.
Limited posterior changes (e.g. maintain posterior crossbite).
Limited vertical changes - anterior intrusion or extrusion 2mm or less. No posterior intrusion or extrusion.
Caries free, periodontally and periapically sound.
No TMD discomfort.

Patient prepared to be compliant with the aligners.
X No medical contraindications, or other contraindications to orthodontic treatment.
X No mixed dentition, preferably an adult, non-growing patient.

software is a vital stage in achieving successful
treatment outcomes.

After you have been trained in the Invisalign Principles Course, we want to ensure you achieve the best
outcomes for both your patient and your practice. SCD’s ClinCheck Team are here to help. Our qualified
team are trained in using the ClinCheck treatment planning software and experienced in case assessments
and treatment options. You retain full control of the clinical decisions in treating your patient but with the
comfort to know you have ongoing support from our team with each and every one of your patients’ cases,
offering you the best service and guidance.
We offer different treatment review options*: -
Invisalign Course 2018
1) Initial Patient Assessment – Free service offered to review photos and/or radiographs to assess which
movements are likely to be limited and advise case options and likely timeframes.
2) Case Review Service – Review Invisalign ClinCheck plans and assist you to maximise predictable
movements and advise about alternative options where applicable.
The clinician takes full responsibility for all treatment decisions.

If you find that your patient is not tracking as expected we can also help guide you to revise the plan, to
make sure you achieve the best possible aesthetic and functional result.
The above treatment plan review services are included with every case ordered through SCD.
Align Technology Services (via Invisalign Australia)
If you have completed the Invisalign Training Course, you will submit your treatment directly to Align
Technology and will be responsible for your treatment plan and review of the ClinCheck 3D models.
At the completion of the course, your Invisalign Practice Development Manager (PDM) will provide in-house
training for the relevant staff members.
This training will include photograph and PVS impression taking, submission process instructions, a basic
overview of the ClinCheck software and practice marketing with online modules. This support is designed to
improve the ClinCheck software experience and to assist dentists in the review process for their ClinCheck
treatment plans.
