LETTER TO
SPONSOR
jazba@UMN.EDU
www.jazbamn.com
On behalf of the Jazba family, I would like to wholeheartedly thank you for your interest in sponsoring
Jazba 2020: an annual Bollywood-Fusion dance competition at the University of Minnesota.
Jazba, derived from a Hindi-Urdu word meaning passion, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
focuses on spreading South Asian cultural awareness through dance and the arts. In addition to this
cultural element, we proudly carry a nonprofit initiative to our mission. Inspired by the 2012 Delhi
gang rape case, Jazba has partnered with Women In Need (WIN) who work to rehabilitate the lives of
impoverished South Asian women who suffer or have suffered from sexual assault, HIV/AIDS, leprosy,
mental illness, and the pitfalls of poverty in Nagpur, India.
Each year, Jazba hosts an intercollegiate, Bollywood-Fusion dance competition at the University of
Minnesota – Twin Cities. This event features top Bollywood-Fusion dance teams from around the country
as well as local entertainment groups who perform in front of an audience of over 2,200 students,
faculty, and community members. Since 2015, we have hosted 34 different dance teams and have raised
$66,000 for WIN.
For Jazba 2020, our sixth annual competition, we hope to exceed what we have accomplished so far.
However, in order to create unimaginable relief for these women and allow our passion to come alive, we
ask for your generous donations.
As a sponsor, your logo will be displayed on multiple banners, videos, and a wide variety of promotional
materials for our event. In the following pages, you will find information about the different levels of
sponsorship and the marketing benefits associated with them. In addition to the included sponsorship
levels, we are more than willing to accommodate your specific sponsorship preferences. Your generosity
will not only help hundreds of South Asian women, but also generate awareness for your organization
to thousands of spectators, students, and members of the South Asian and University of Minnesota
communities.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns via email (palad007@umn.edu) or phone
(763-259-8422).
Thank you for your time and kind consideration. I hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
Sruti Paladugu

Women In Need (WIN) was first started in August 2000 to
provide aid to women suffering from leprosy in the slums of
Nagpur, India. Through the years, WIN has grown to make tre-
mendous impacts in the lives of numerous impoverished South
Asian women, including those suffering from schizophrenia,
severe depression, and HIV/AIDS, as well as assisting women
who have been abandoned by their families with no means to
support themselves or their children. Whether a woman re-
quires medical treatment, the means to set up her own busi-
ness, or simply a friend to trust, WIN is there to support and
empower her in whatever way possible and to reassure her
that she is not alone.
