costume (provided by German Fest, while they last.) Children who participate or follow the parade will receive a treat and a coloring book.

Special Attractions & Activities continued Fritzi and the Usinger Elves German Fest’s official and lovable mascot “Fritzi” along with his friends Hans and Fritz (the Usinger Elves), can be spotted walking the grounds all weekend. Glockenspiel (R on map) In the same style as the Rathaus Glockenspiel on the Marienplatz (central time square in Munich), the “Glockenspiel” depicts a comedic snapshot of a day-in-the-life of a Holzhacker, or Lumberjack. Must see! Friday 4:00, 6:00 & 8:00 pm - Saturday 2:00, 6:00 & 8:00 pm - Sunday 2:00, 4:00 & 6:00 pm Greater Milwaukee Model T Ford Club (W on map) The Model T Ford Club, established in 1960, will display their classic cars from days gone by on the grounds and in the parade. Saturday 1:00-4:00 pm Haribo® Gummy Bear Sampling (1 on map) Friday 3:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday & Sunday 12:00-6:00 pm Maibaum (Z on map) Located on the South end of the festival grounds near the Glockenspiel. One of the most photographed subjects of German Fest, the Maibaum represents each of German Fest’s participating societies. A German tradition, unique Mailbaums are erected May 1st in towns and villages depicting their individual cultural groups and prevalent trades and commerce. They signify the beginning of Spring and are put up with much pomp and celebration. Mardi Gras Show (O on map) Called Karneval, Fastnacht, or Fasching, Mardi Gras events cover the whole carnival season with famous parades held in Cologne, Mainz, and Düsseldorf on Rosenmontag (Rosé Monday) the Monday before Ash Wednesday. This is a showcase of Mardi Gras costumes and traditions on the Briggs & Stratton Stage. Saturday 6:30 pm Marktplatz (J on map) A marketplace featuring vendors of authentic German clothing, steins, nutcrackers, linens, jewelry, hats, candies and more! Milwaukee Police Department K-9 Unit & German-American Police Association (C on map) Meet & Greet Sunday 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Music on the Move (Q on map) Inflatable children’s activities located on the north end of the grounds.
Special Attractions & Activities continued Parade Bands, clubs in traditional dress, Model Ts, Volkswagens, Mardi Gras Princes & Princesses, Fritzi & The Usinger Elves and more! Grab a schnitzel or your favorite beverage and relax along the parade route (see map). Saturday 4:00 pm “Schafskopf!” Sheepshead (U on map) Learn how to play and join in a round of this traditional card game! Sign up begins when the gates open. Located in the Culture Pavilion. Friday 3:30-9:30 pm, Saturday 12:30-9:30 pm, Sunday 12:30-7:30 pm Selfie Spots We put the Germany in German Fest with these gigantic images located throughout the grounds. When you come across a selfie spot, be sure to stop and snap a picture. And if you share it on social media, tag us! Sprecher Brewery Sampling (Y on map) Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3:00-7:00 pm Stein Home Brewing Challenge (A on map) The largest German-style-only home brew competition in the country! Judged at Kegel’s Inn, West Allis, WI with the award ceremony held right here at German Fest!
