Kids R Kids of North Peachtree City (KRKNPTC) Family Handbook This handbook provides a partial list and explanation of KRKNPTC’s Programs and Policies. Many of these policies have been established to enable us to comply with various rules and regulations and are non-negotiable. Only the Owners(s) of KRKNPTC have the authority to enter in to any payment or other arrangement which varies from the policies and procedures contained in this Handbook. These policies are subject to change at any time with or without notice. Contact dwebb@krk39ga.com with any questions. Referral Program Kids R Kids is pleased to offer a referral bonus to families who refer others to enroll at our school. In order to be eligible for a referral bonus, the new family MUST list the referring family on the initial inquiry form which they fill out as they prepare to tour. Both the referring family and the referred family must be continuously enrolled full time for 90 days in order to be eligible for any bonus. Referral programs and amounts may vary based on enrollment needs and parents will be informed via email. Attendance, Vacation, and Closures Your tuition or other periodic fee secures your child’s spot in the classroom regardless of whether your child is actually in attendance. As such, the full tuition and or other fee is due each period regardless of attendance subject to the following policies: Sign-in / Sign Out: The state of GA requires that all children are signed in and out each day by their guardian or guardian’s designee. Except under rare or unusual circumstances, we cannot sign your child in/out on your behalf. Use our electronic system to sign in after you have dropped your child off to his/her classroom and sign out AFTER you have retrieved your child and belongings and are prepared to exit the building. After repeated failures to sign in/out, you may be charged a fee of $5 per incident or be disenrolled without advance notice or refund. Vacation Weeks*: We are pleased to offer a Vacation Policy for full time students in all programs except GA Pre-K and Summer Camp Flexible Attendance. On the first billing date following a vacation week, we will apply a credit to your account for 100% of the weekly tuition amount to accommodate family vacations according to the following terms and conditions: - Vacation weeks must be requested via email (frontdesk@krk39ga.com) at least one week in advance and may be applied only to weeks where your child is not in attendance for all 5 days. - A vacation week is earned after the first 6 months of full time continuous attendance and thereafter on 12 month intervals from the last vacation week. Vacation weeks may not be carried over. - Dis-enrollment / re-enrollment resets the vacation week schedule. - If your child attends part of one or more days in a given week, a vacation week cannot be used. *Applies only to accounts in good standing. A history of late payment, late pickups, failure to sign in/out, or other delinquencies may result in forfeiture of some or all accrued vacation weeks. Withdrawal: At least two weeks written notice sent to frontdesk@krk39ga.com is required prior to disenrollment (your child’s last day). Please put the word “WITHDRAWAL” in the regarding, include your child’s name and the last day in the email. If less than two weeks written notice is given, you are responsible for all fees for the two week period following your written notice, or three weeks from the last day attended when no written notice is provided, whether or not your child is in attendance. In order to eliminate questions of if /when notice was given, verbal notice cannot be accepted. Withdrawal / Re-enrollment: We have a number of families who need the flexibility to disenroll and re-enroll throughout the course of the year (e.g. teachers for the summer, accommodate extended international travel). We require at least two weeks written notice prior to disenrollment. Any outstanding balance must be satisfied and a new enrollment fee will be assessed prior to re-enrollment (if space is available). Closures: Our holiday closures include New Year’s Day (observed), Memorial Day, 4th of July (observed), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (observed). We may also close due to inclement weather or emergency. Please check www.krk39ga.com, our Facebook page, or our phone system for school closures. We do not pro-rate tuition or other fees or offer refunds for closures for any reasons. Page 1 of 7
Tuition and Fees We strive to maintain aggressive pricing and liberal policies. As such, we have set the following policies regarding payment: Enrollment Based Fees: Your tuition or other fees secure your child’s spot on the class roster regardless of his or her attendance in the same manner that a rent payment secures a tenant’s occupancy. Just as an apartment complex does not let another family move in when a renter goes on vacation, we do not fill your child’s spot when absent. You are responsible for full payment of tuition or other fees each period, regardless of attendance. Billing: Tuition is billed monthly on the 25th of every month, and is pulled via TuitionExpress the first of every month. Except for the initial start date, we do not pro-rate tuition or other fees for any reason. Closures due to events such as Holidays, inclement weather, or emergencies will not result in any discounts or refunds. Initial tuition or other fee is due 2 weeks prior to your child’s 1st day. Drop-in or other daily fees are due same day at drop off. Payment: We use Tuition Express for all payment processing. Credit cards payment or ACH drafts are supported through Tuition Express. MasterCard and Visa are the only accepted cards. Third Party or Agency Responsibility for Payment: In the event that a non-legal guardian (e.g. grandparent) will be paying part or all of your child’s fees, that third party must sign the Family Handbook and Enrollment Agreement and, in addition to you, must accept financial responsibility for payment. At your request, we may agree to bill a government or other agency for part or all of your child’s fees. In that event, you are solely responsible for establishing and maintaining any such agency agreement and you are responsible for any fees which are late or unpaid. Part Time Program: We are a full time, academic preschool and do not generally offer a part time (less than 5 days per week) program. However, subject to availability, we may offer a part time option according to following terms and conditions: - You must select which days per week your child will attend at the time of enrollment and adhere to those days. As you consider which days to request, be aware that holiday closures often fall on Mondays or Fridays and that tuition is not adjusted for closures. With at least 14 days advance written notice to frontdesk@krk39ga.com, you may request to alter which days of the week your child attends. If able, we will switch your days at the next billing period without additional fees beyond any applicable proration to tuition. - Adding days in a given week can be requested and may be accommodated if available and will incur additional fees. We do not allow you to substitute days to make up for absence or closure. - You may be asked to switch days, switch to full time enrollment, or to disenroll with at least 14 days notice provided by KRKNPTC. Enrollment Fee: Non-refundable Enrollment Fees are billed prior to initial and/or each re-enrollment and on the anniversary of your most recent Enrollment Fee payment. Enrollment Fees are due on the same day as the next tuition payment and subject to the same payment policies. Enrolment fees are subject to increase from the amount specified on your enrollment agreement. Late Payment: We would far prefer on-time payments than charge late fees. Late payments drive up costs and jeopardize our ability to pay expenses. If you are on a weekly billing schedule your account is billed on Thursday and payment is due on Friday. Our auto-draft for weekly payers is Tuesday after 12:00PM. If your account is not paid in full by Tuesday for the tuition week, a $15 fee may be added to your account. If the balance due is not paid in full by Thursday for the tuition week, an additional $10 fee may be added and your child may be dis-enrolled until payment is made. If you are on the monthly billing cycle, your payment is due by the 1 st of each month. Our auto-draft for monthly payers is run the 2nd of each month. If your account is not paid in full by the 3 rd of the month a late fee of $15 may be added to your account. If the balance due is not paid in full by the 5th of the month, an additional $10 fee may be added and your child may be dis-enrolled until payment is made. Subsequent late fees may be added every two additional business days. Repeated delinquencies may prompt us to require a security deposit and/or to modify your Due Date before your child can be allowed to attend and/or may result in the forfeiture of vacation weeks or discounts. If you anticipate an issue paying on time, please speak to an Owner in advance. We are happy to work with you as best we can. For accounts that have a returned ACH or a credit card over the limit return 2 times, you will receive notice to make future payments with cash, a cashier’s check, or money order. Returned Payment: If your payment method returns for any reason, a $35.00 Return Fee along with applicable late fees will be charged to your account and may be due before your child can be allowed to return. After 2 Return Fee occurrences, you may be required to pay with cash or USPS Money Order. Sibling Discount: For parents / guardians enrolling more than 1 child on the same account and who live full time in the same household, we may offer a discount of 10% off of the oldest child’s tuition. The sibling discount does not apply to part time enrollment or GA PreK. Sibling or other discounts may not be applied to delinquent accounts. Page 2 of 7
Late Pickup*: We close promptly at 6:30 PM. Please arrive by 6:25PM in order to retrieve your children, talk to the teacher, gather belongings BEFORE signing out, and exit the building by 6:30PM. If you will be late arriving to the School for pick up, please call and notify the administration. There is a charge of $2 per minute after 6:30 p.m. and $5 per minute after 6:45 p.m. The late charge is due on the following day. If children are left at the School one hour after closing and no attempt to contact the School has been made, legal authorities will be contacted. Kids’R’Kids reserves the right to dismiss students from the school who are repeatedly picked up after the school is closed. We reserve the right to disenroll families/children who are routinely late pick ups. *We assess steep fees in order to deter late pickups, as they are very problematic. Please understand that our staff cannot wrap up their day until you leave the building. In addition to overtime, late pickup or lingering past 6:30PM causes our staff to be late for or miss important personal commitments, such as family dinners, kids’ sports, help with homework, bath and bed time. If you need time to talk to a teacher, please arrive early enough to conduct that conversation and depart by 6:30. We understand that these fees can be upsetting, so please prioritize on time pickup in the same manner you would prioritize arriving at the airport on time for a flight. Collections: We will aggressively pursue the collection of all unpaid fees through any legal means and may report unpaid debt to credit reporting and/or other agencies. By enrolling your child(ren), you agree to pay all fees associated with collections as allowed by law to include any reasonable attorney’s fees and/or collections agency fees, court and filing costs, as well as 2% per month on unpaid balances from the date that payment, including late fees, was first due. To ensure that your cash payment is recorded, you are responsible for requesting and retaining a written receipt. Any cash payment without a written receipt cannot be validated, and will not be credited. Medications, Illness, and Ability to Provide Care We do our best to provide care for all children and to prevent the spread of illness. The policies described below are intended to maximize the health and safety of all of the children in our care. Medications and Topical Ointments: We are prohibited from administering ANY medication (OTC or prescription) without a completed Medication Authorization Form AND written instructions from a physician. We are prohibited from applying any topical ointment (sunscreen, bug spray, etc.) without a completed permission form, which must be re-completed every six months. We administer medications at 10am and 2pm. We ask that if your prescription or doctor orders require the medication twice daily or less that you give this medication before and/or after school. If the doctor’s orders require 3 times a day dosing or more, we will gladly administer the 10am and/or 2:00pm dosage. If your child is to have medicine at any other time, families must make arrangements to come by the School and administer the medicine themselves or make other arrangements with the School. Other rules for administering medicines are: • Over-the-counter medicines must be in their original containers. • We will only administer oral medications and topical medications. • We will not administer any medication after its expiration date or for non-medicated reasons, such as to induce sleep. • We will not accept a Medication Authorization Form that states the medication is to be given “as needed. • Exceptions to this rule are life-saving medications such as breathing treatments. Any child needing these types of medications administered will be placed on a “Care Plan” developed by the child’s family, a medical expert, and the School Owner or Director. Any “Care Plan” currently in use will remain so until renewal time (at least every 12 months). • Only ONE medication can be listed on each Medication Authorization Form. • Prescription medication must be in its original container bearing the pharmacist’s label. • All medications must be dropped off and picked up at the front desk, each day. These medications will be stored in a locked container. Medication may not be transported to the classroom by families. • NO MEDICATION MAY BE PLACED IN THE CHILD’S BAG OR TAKEN INTO THE CLASSROOM FOR ANY REASON. • All medication must be taken home daily to ensure proper family control. • Children are not allowed to bring any type of medication to the School to administer themselves. Immunizations: We require all children to be immunized according to State and CDC guidelines. We request that your child’s immunization record (form 3231, which can be obtained from your pediatrician) be provided at enrollment. If immunization documentation has not been provided within 30 days of enrollment, or if documentation expires and is not updated within 30 days, your child may be disenrolled without refund. Fever, Diarrhea, or Vomiting: In order to minimize the spread of illness, children who have a temperature in excess of 100.4 degrees F may not be dropped off or remain in the school. Children who have a second diarrhea incident in one day or who vomit twice in one day must be picked up and must remain home the following day. If your child wakes up with a fever, PLEASE don’t dose them with Tylenol or other medicine to bring the fever down and then drop them at school. They risk contagion to others and Page 3 of 7
will be miserable when the medicine wears off. A Physician’s note attesting that a child is not contagious may be required before returning to school. Communicable Conditions: In order to protect the health and safety of our families and staff, we cannot allow children with communicable conditions in to the school. Children may be sent home at our discretion if we are concerned that he or she may have a communicable condition. Children who are sent home for fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or suspected communicable condition must remain home the following day. Before returning, a doctor’s note may be required stating they are not contagious. Ability to Provide Care: We welcome all children and will work diligently with parents to ensure that we can provide the right care for any child. However, our staff has no specific training related to the care of children with special needs and our group sizes, facility, and Programs may not be suitable for all children. We reserve the right not to provide care for children whose needs we do not feel we can meet or if meeting those needs diminishes our services or the safety of your child or other children. Ability to Adjust: We reserve the right to discontinue care of any child that, after a reasonable amount of time as determined by the school, cannot adapt to our programs or behave in a manner which jeopardizes their safety, or the safety or well-being of other children or KRKNPTC staff, or jeopardizes our ability to teach. Not all children are able to adapt to a group care environment. While we do not fault children or parents for inability to adapt or for behavior issues, we must maintain a safe environment which is conducive to learning. We reserve the right to disenroll any child whose behavior may endanger themselves or others or whose behavior (or whose parents behavior) disrupts or inhibits our normal and professional business operation and/or ability to educate and/or to care for the other children. Discipline Methods of Discipline: Praise, positive reinforcement, and redirection are effective methods for the behavior management of children. When children receive positive, non-violent, and understanding interactions from adults and others, they develop good self-concepts, problem-solving abilities, and self-discipline. Based on this belief of how children learn and develop values, this facility practices the following discipline and behavior management policy which follows the NAEYC Code of Ethics. Redirection: At KRKNPTC we use a method of ‘redirection’ to guide children toward appropriate behavior. If a child is engaged in behavior that is not conducive to a safe and happy learning environment, the teacher will “redirect” the child toward appropriate behavior. We shall not participate in practices that are disrespectful, degrading, dangerous, exploitative, intimidating, emotionally damaging, or physically harmful to children.” (NAEYC Code of Ethics – Principle-1.1) Behavior Expectations: Teaching children to behave properly in a school setting requires a partnership between school and parents. We work hard to discourage and to eliminate disruptive or dangerous behavior such as biting or hitting children or teachers, running or climbing furniture, throwing or breaking toys or books, abusing or disrespecting children or teachers, etc. When a child exhibits such behavior, we immediately address the situation with the child on their eye level in a serious voice. When we bring a behavior issue to your attention, it is because we need your help in reinforcing the need to behave properly at school before it gets to the point where it becomes too disruptive or dangerous. Continued or extreme behavior issues may result in disenrollment at our sole discretion. Unacceptable Behaviors: Children will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including immediate dismissal for: • Abuse or damage of School property • Bullying/Harassment/Hazing • Committing a serious breach of conduct inside or outside of the School • Disrespect • Disruption of School functions • Fighting • Lewd or obscene behavior • Possession or sale of tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or drug related items • Possession or use of a weapon, among other things • Profanity or vulgarity • Sexual or other misconduct • Stealing Page 4 of 7
Classroom Policies School-wide: Attire: Children must be dressed (not in pajamas, except on pajama day) when they arrive. Please check the weather forecast each morning and dress your child appropriately. State regulations require us to take the children outside each day unless the weather is extreme. Please do not under-dress your children on cold days or over-dress them on warm days. Provide outerwear for cold weather and enable us to remove layers on warm days. Label your child’s clothes with their first and last name. In order to participate in water activities, a bathing suit separate from the clothes your child arrives in must be provided. We conduct potentially messy art activities and play outside daily, so we strongly advise you not to dress your children in expensive or precious attire. We assume no liability for loss of or damage to any attire or belonging. Footwear: All fitting shoes or those which leave toes or heels exposed, have hard soles and/or toes, or provide poor traction are very likely to contribute to accidents or injuries. Your children MUST wear securely fitting, soft soled tennis shoes or sneakers which provide good traction, cover the entire foot, and have velcro or laces. In order to minimize the risk of injury, your child may not be admitted (or allowed to remain if not noticed at drop-off) if their footwear does not meet these requirements. Boots, “Sunday” shoes, slippers, crocs, flip flops, sandals, any toe-less or backless shoe, or any other footwear which does not meet the requirements described here are prohibited. In order to participate in any water activity, your children must wear water shoes with a rubber sole which covers the entire foot. Glass: We cannot have any glass products inside our classroom. This means if you send in outside food products, all containers must be plastic and labeled with your child’s first and last name and current date. Infants through Toddlers: Diapers: You must provide all diapers for your child and you are responsible for checking to ensure your child has a sufficient supply. If your child runs out of diapers, KRKNPTC will attempt to notify you twice via KidReports. After the second notification, if supplies are not brought in, you will be charged $5.00 a day until provided. Bottles and Formula: Bottles can be given in rooms 100 and 150 only. You must bring in bottles which have been filled at home and have been labeled with your child’s first and last name and the current date each day. We are not permitted to mix formula or cereal. We also can not have any glass bottles. Sippy Cups: We generally use sippy cups and whole milk, 100% fruit juice or tap water for children in Rooms 150 and 200 and lowfat milk, 100% fruit juice or tap water for older children. Any parent provided beverage must be sent in daily in a thermos if necessary to stay cold or in another container if temperature is not important. This container must be taken home daily. Pre-K and School Aged (Including After School, Breaks, and Summer Camp): Field Trips: Before your child may go on a Field Trip, you MUST sign the permission slip available at the Front Desk beginning several days prior to the trip. All Children must wear a Kids R Kids field trip shirt on every trip. We do not generally transport children younger than 5 years. In the event we pick up your 4 year old from public school for After School care, you will be required to provide a car seat that is the correct size (see front desk staff for information) with a five point harness. Elementary School Pickup*: If your child is absent from his/her elementary school and KRKNPTC is not notified by 1:00pm to pick-up, a $15 non-notification fee will be charged. *The reason for this fee is that when we are expecting to pick up your child from Elementary School and he or she is not present, the bus driver must work with the Elementary School and the Center to ensure the child’s whereabouts are known and that he or she is not mistakenly left. During this time, a bus full of kids is forced to wait and/or, our bus is late for its pickup at the next Elementary School. Given the GA Hands Free cell phone law, it can be very difficult to reach our bus driver. Finally, it jeopardizes our continued permission from the Elementary Schools to continue our After School pickup. Personal Electronic Devices: We allow school agers to use personal electronic devices other than cell phones, smart watches or any other device used to make phone calls, take pictures or video, during specified times in after school, breaks, and Summer/Holiday Camp. We reserve the right to prohibit any child from bringing or using any device at any time at our sole discretion. We expressly deny any and all liability for loss of or damage to any device or personal belonging. If you are concerned about loss/damage of any belonging, you should not allow your child to bring it. We strongly recommend that you permanently label any belonging with your child’s name. Children are not permitted to make phone calls, photos, or record video and/or audio on a personal device while they are in our care, including field trips. If a child needs to make a phone call, KRKNPTC staff will make the call for the child. Georgia Pre-K (GPK) Dropoff / Pickup: Breakfast and drop off prior to 15 minutes before GPK starts is available only to GPK students who are also enrolled in Before Care. If not enrolled in Before Care, drop your child off in his/her GPK classroom no more than 15 minutes prior to his/her GPK start time. If not enrolled in After Care, your child must be picked up within 15 minutes of his/her GPK dismissal time. If picked up late, he/she will be placed in After Care and you will be charged the daily drop in rate. The 15 minute grace period may be rescinded if abused. Page 5 of 7
After School Behavior Expectations: We strive to provide a fun and structured School Aged program. We generally have the same expectations regarding behavior as do the elementary schools. During homework / study time, children are required to work quietly on their homework or read a book. We cannot tolerate profanity, violent or disruptive or abusive behavior, bullying of any kind, or the damage or taking of property. When riding the bus, children must remain buckled, sit in their assigned seats, keep their feet out of the aisle at all times, and keep their hands to themselves. Eating or drinking on the bus is strictly prohibited. Failure to remain properly seated at all times or to comply with bus driver instructions endangers all the children on the bus and may lead to immediate suspension of bus pickup. Absence due to suspension will not result in refund or discount. Other Policies and Information Requests for Specialized Care or Services: KRKNPTC provides group care in which teachers are responsible for supervising various size groups of children based on their age. As such, we have very limited ability to provide care or services which require 1:1 attention which might prevent the teachers’ active supervision of and engagement with the other children in the group. Front Desk personnel have responsibilities which often preclude them from supervising children, and non-classroom areas such as the Front Desk or glass office are not suitable locations for children to be except for brief periods in rare circumstances. Examples of services we may not be able to perform or care we might not be able to offer include: administering breathing treatments, spoon feeding children in room 200 and up, providing a room for speech therapy, potty training or changing children over 42 months, dressing children for extracurricular activities, etc. If you seek care or services which require 1:1 attention, you might consider an alternate childcare scenario. Notifications: In order to ensure that notices are not misplaced and to eliminate any confusion over dates, all notices must be in writing and sent via email to frontdesk@krk39ga.com. Notifications to parents will be sent by email to the address(es) provided at enrollment. You agree to provide us with an email address that you check regularly and you agree that any notification sent you by KRKNPTC via email shall be considered received on the day it is sent if not returned to us as undeliverable. You also agree to provide us with a cell phone number and to inform us of your cell phone provider so that we may contact you via text as needed. Parking: It is common for children to want to run ahead of mom or dad in the parking lot. We must insist that you hold your child’s hand to not allow this to happen while in the area around other cars for the safety of your child. In order to maximize child safety, unless raining, PLEASE park in the lot and not along the curb or under the covered drive. Beyond endangering the children, parking along the front often blocks our busses, deliveries, PreK carpool, etc. Never leave a child in a car in the parking lot, as we are required to report such incidents. We assume no liability for theft/damage to cars or any other property in our parking lot. Parent Access and Identification: A copy of the parent’s driver’s license will be taken at time of enrollment. Parents / Guardians are welcome to drop by any time their child is present. Except for pick up and drop off, please announce yourself to the Front Desk before proceeding to any classroom. Lingering in the classroom is not allowed, as it distracts the children and makes is difficult for the teachers to be effective. If you would like to talk with a teacher, please schedule a conference. Pickup and Dropoff: Parents and children must enter and exit through the lobby at pick-up and drop off. You may never enter or exit the playground directly, you must go through the building. Children must be walked to their classroom or designated area and handed off to a teacher or other staff member. Children can never be left unattended or allowed to roam through the building without you. In order to maximize the health and safety of our infants and babies, siblings cannot be allowed in rooms 100, 150 or 200. Video Recording and Remote Viewing: KRKNPTC records video throughout the school and streams that video via the Internet to allow remote viewing. Parents cannot opt out of being recorded for themselves, their children, or anyone who enters the premises. The system provided by our Internet streaming provider is believed to be secure, but KRKNPTC does not guarantee its security, and assumes no liability for its use or misuse. You are strictly prohibited from recording or attempting to record the video stream. Spare Clothing: Provide 2 sets of spare clothing for preschoolers and one set for school agers. If we do not have a change of clothes when a child has an accident, they may become uncomfortable or embarrassed. In a classroom of preschoolers new to pottying, changing leads to parents mistakenly taking home the wrong clothes. We assume no liability for loss or damage to any attire and strongly encourage you to dress your children in easy to replace, inexpensive clothing labeled with your child’s name. Restricted Areas: Parents and children may not enter the kitchen or pantry, any closets, the upstairs, or behind the Front Desk. Food: KRKNPTC believes that a healthy diet is essential for healthy development of children. Therefore, we serve very healthy foods mostly cooked from scratch. KRKNPTC is nut free and does not serve pork products and rarely serves beef. It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to advise us of any food allergies or food restrictions in writing prior to enrollment and to keep such information up to date. Products containing nuts or with labels indicating potential exposure to nuts are expressly prohibited. Any food brought in for special occasions such as birthdays or class parties must be brought to the Front Desk for inspection and must contain a contents label. Therefore, homemade food may not be used for class events. Our School will provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch every day along with a snack in the morning for GA Pre-K and in the afternoon for preschool. Children under 2 years receive 2 afternoon snacks when here later in the day. Meals and snacks served at our School comply with the Meal Patterns for Page 6 of 7
Children in Child Care Standards which are based on the recommended nutrient intake judged by the National Research Council to be adequate for maintaining good nutrition. Allergies and Special Diets: A weekly menu is available in our entry and on our website listing all food that will be served for snacks and meals. If your child has a medical condition that prohibits him/her from eating items on our menu we must have a written Allergy Action Plan signed by your physician identifying the allergy and action to be taken if exposed. Except in the case of a physician documented food allergy, we must comply with the recommended nutrient intake for all children in our program therefore if you have a parental preference that your child cannot eat an item on our menu you must provide the missing nutritional component. These items need to be sent in daily, as needed, labeled with your child’s first and last name, and the current date, and must be kept in your child’s classroom. If the food needs to be kept cold or warm it should be brought in lunch box or thermos designed for this. No tuition or food discount is given for food brought in by families for any programs, including GA Pre-K. All food brought from home must be labeled with the child’s first and last name and the current date. Clothing, Outerwear, Personal Items, and Hazards: KRKNPTC is not responsible for the loss or well-being of clothing, outerwear such as sweaters, jackets, gloves, hats; or any personal items such as jewelry, blankets, stuffed animals, car seats, book bags, toys, or electronics. If you are concerned about the loss or damage of any item, please do not allow your child to wear or bring it to school. You are responsible for writing your child’s first and last name on any clothing or personal items. Please do not allow your child to bring toys, dress-up clothes, or other personal items to the school. Such items are often a source of conflict, may be lost or damaged, or may be taken home by another child. All bags are subject to search. Any sharp object, food, hand sanitizer, etc. can pose a hazard to other children and are prohibited. Jewelry is prohibited for infants through PreK, as it poses a high risk of choking or other injury. Jewelry for older children may be permitted subject to the sole discretion of KRKNPTC Management if it does not pose significant risk of injury. Hiring KRKNPTC Staff: Hiring of any of our staff is prohibited. It violates our employment policies with our staff and may lead to their discipline and/or termination. If you hire a KRKNPTC employee for any work or service, that employee undertakes such work or service on his/her own behalf, and not as an employee or representative of KRKNPTC. KRKNPTC assumes no liability for any service performed by any staff member hired by a parent or guardian, and none should be implied or inferred under any circumstances. I hereby unconditionally agree to pay KRKNPTC an agency fee of $5000.00 if I hire a KRKNPTC employee within 60 days of their end of employment with KRKNPTC without prior written permission from the Owner of KRKNPTC. Release of Information: By listing approved people to pick up your child on the Registration Paperwork and/or by notes to the school for a one time pick up authorization, you also are authorizing us to release daily, injury, FYI Reports and other important information about your child’s day to your authorized pick up people. Parent Behavior: Parents are expected to treat each other, the children, and our staff with courtesy and respect at all times. Rude or abusive language or behavior cannot be tolerated and may result in your child’s disenrollment or your restriction from entering the building without prior notice or refund. Parents may not touch, question, or interrogate a child who is not their own. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Front Desk. Teachers may not discuss any child other than your own with you. Right to Disenroll: KRKNPTC reserves the right to disenroll any child for any reason at any time with or without advance notice or refund. Role of the Owner: Only the Owners(s) of KRKNPTC have the authority to enter in to any agreement which varies from any terms, policy, procedure, or fee contained in this Handbook or in your Enrollment Agreement. Right to Change Prices and Policies: Prices and/or policies are subject to change from time to time with or without notice. By signing below, I hereby acknowledge receipt of the KRKNPTC Family Handbook and attest that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the policies and procedures it contains: [[prm-grd-first]] [[prm-grd-last]] ________________________________ ____________ Parent / Guardian Name Parent / Guardian Signature Date [[grd2-first]] [[grd2-last]] ________________________________ ____________ Parent/ Guardian Name Parent / Guardian Signature Date [[grd3-first]] [[grd3-last]] ________________________________ ____________ Other Party Responsible for Payment Other Party Signature Date Page 7 of 7
