WHO IS THE SSL?
The Suncoast Softball League is ORGANIZED:
the largest LGBTQ+ sports league Fall 1993
Year 27: 2019-20
in the Tampa Bay area!
BUSINESS STATUS:
The SSL was organized with a mission to promote a friendly, compet-
itive, and emotionally safe environment for LGBTQ men and women in 501(c)3 Non-Profit
the Tampa area to learn and participate in the sport of softball. While we
realize opportunities exist outside of this League for softball play, the MEMBERS:
League exists as our special place, affording opportunities to us 400+
as a group which aren’t available elsewhere. Our goal as a League
is to promote acceptance of LGBTQ men and women as well as those FACEBOOK:
in our community who are friendly and supportive of our ideals.
SSL Public Fans
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit first organized in fall 1993 relying on
member dues, sponsor contributions and fund raising activities to cover >1,000
operational costs. We have over 400 active members participating in GSC Public Fans

As a valued partner with our league, we will promote your business SSL Private Members

munity. Your company’s information will be advertised on our league’s >500
website and Facebook. Depending on the level of sponsorship you
choose, a variety of other opportunities are availableto highlight your
bu ness, including but not limited to hosting social events at your DEMOGRAPHICS:
loca-tion to allow our members to attend and support your business. In 20-60, Mixed, LGBTQ+
addi-tion to the benefits you receive from your sponsorship, you
will be promoting SSL’s mission and our goal in a positive way. OUTREACH:
The SSL also has a successful track record of giving back to the Tampa Bay Area
community, raising tens of thousands of dollars for community organi-
zations like Meals on Wheels, Suncoast Animal Clinic and Ybor Youth
NATIONAL AFFILIATION:
Clinic as well as hosting Giving Days for donations each season.
The SSL has been recognized year in and year out as one of the North American Gay
most outstanding LGBTQ local sports leagues in Tampa Bay. Please Amateur Athletic Alliance
consider partnering with us as we work hard to continue to provide an (46 cities)
organization that promotes diversity and a safe environment for all to
play in.
WHO IS THE GSC?
The Gasparilla Softball Classic is our GSC TOURNAMENTS:

The GSC is one of the oldest and largest continuously run- TEAMS:
ning LGBTQ+ softball tournaments in North America with 90 Team Capacity in 4
teams coming from all over the US and Canada. Our 27th Divisions of Play
annual softball tournament returns in February 2021. We
anticipate another big turnout as we welcome our winter FACEBOOK:
visitors to enjoy all that our area has to offer. This year we SSL Public Fans
expect over 1,800 players and fans from over 90 teams to >1,000
attend our adult mixed event, participating in four divisions of GSC Public Fans
play. Each team is composed of roughly 20 players and fans. >1,000
