– a sister act
Originally named the Little Polynesian Motel, the humble beachfront
property was acquired in 1985 by Cook Islands sisters - the late Te
Tika Mataiapo Dorice Reid and the late Jeannine Peyroux. The pair
foresaw the trend for upscale accommodation in the Cook Islands
and were determined to evolve their little piece of paradise.
The property went through a complete redevelopment in 2006 -
establishing the now 4.5 star boutique adults-only Little Polynesian
Resort. Passionate about their homeland, Te Tika (a traditional
chief) and Jeannine envisioned Little Polynesian Resort with a Cook
Islands signature of its own. Today, guests can enjoy the relaxed
luxury of a resort rich in history and inspired by Cook Islands values
– all because of the vision of two forward-thinking sisters.

Moana Sands Villas
Even when you’re sitting right next to a beautiful beach, it’s still nice to
have the option of a swimming pool. And with this in mind, the team at
Moana Sands Beachfront Villas put the plans in place.
The property’s new pool and surrounding decking is very close to
completion (as we go to press) and will be ready in plenty of time for the
busy winter season ahead.
