SWS RENDEZVOUS & TROPHY PORTO CERVO, 1-5 JUNE 2021 2021 is our 30th anniversary! Join us to celebrate this important milestone at the biannual Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy, hosted within the 2021 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, and held from June 1-5 in Porto Cervo, Sardinia. This summer should offer the conditions to be back at sea and we will do our utmost to organize a safe and enjoyable event: four days of sailing in beautiful conditions and a social programme that lets everyone rub shoulders with the owners and crews of some of our most beautiful yachts. In the wake of the success of our recent, smaller “family events,” we will propose alternative programs both at sea and ashore for owners who want to spectate the racing and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this prestigious event. Come to race or to enjoy the party in the relaxed family atmosphere that only the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy can offer. Now in its thirteenth year, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta is
an annual event organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda with
Title Sponsor, Loro Piana.
Thanks to the long-lasting collaboration between these two
prestigious players, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta is arguably
the most exclusive event in the Superyacht calendar and is held
in the enchanting village of Porto Cervo, home of the Yacht Club
Costa Smeralda.
This Regatta attracts some of the world’s most magnificent sailing
superyachts that have an overall length of 27m to 60m. The
programme for the event is spread over five days, with exciting
races, a well-planned programme for the non-racing fleet and an
unmissable social programme.

The SWS trophy is held within the LPSR whose official Notice of Race
ELIGIBILITY
defines the general Racing Rules, Rating Certificate and Registration
procedures.
ALL SWS YACHTS with LOA of 21metres or above and with a current
ORCsy or ORCcs certificate (for Corinthian Spirit Class), are eligible for

SWS TROPHY RULES:
SWS Owners can choose the racing format for their yachts. There will be
racing divisions with different starting formats*:
• Cruising Division: STAGGERED STARTS (racing under the Racing Rules
of Sailing and the Superyacht Appendix)
• Performance Division: COMBINATION OF FLEET STARTS (normal
Racing Rules of Sailing) AND STAGGERED STARTS (racing under the
RRS and the Superyacht Appendix)
1°- 2°- 3° from each class will be awarded a prize.
*The OA will, at its sole discretion, divide the fleet into Divisions and Classes based on size,
performance characteristics, speed potential and composition of the fleet. A notice with the preliminary
breaks will be posted on the YCCS website by May 28th.
Depending on fleet composition, it is the intent of the race committee to have superyachts and
multihulls grouped into Divisions, which may be further divided into Classes, as follows: Cruising Division,
Performance Division, 90 to 99 feet Division, Corinthian Spirit Division, Multihull Division.

It will be the perfect opportunity to spend some time with you and your crew in a relaxed atmosphere and to show you what’s new about the shipyard and our yachts.
