HELP BRING NATIVE BIRDS BACK TO OUR NEIGHBOURHOODS
To make New Zealand Predator Free, we need everyone chipping in. You can
help eradicate predators like rats from the Bay of Plenty simply by having a
trap in your backyard. By reducing the numbers of pests we're giving our
native species a fighting chance to reclaim areas where they once thrived.
Backyard trapping is easy, a great activity to get the family involved in and
makes a big difference. See more about this great initiative on Page 4.

Or they take them away. The desire to enjoy the harbour view is behind the changing landscape of the Matua
peninsular. Within the last two years three houses on the Waratah ridge and others on Beach Road have or are
being replaced with new dwellings. Many others along either section of Beach Road have undergone major
transformations. This is a reflection of the value residents place on living in Matua and Otumoetai.
