Welcome
McDougall strives to be a community of faith where all are welcomed in their diversity,
and where we share with each other our struggles, our triumphs and our joys, with

Our service runs about one hour and 15 minutes.
    You are invited to light a candle in remembrance, in joy, or in hope any-
     time for the duration of our time in the sanctuary.
    If you are watching online, you are invited to light a candle in your home
     as part of our service ritual.
    The church building will remain locked. However, our office is open
     Tuesday to Friday from 9 to noon. Please make an appointment if you
     want to access the church,

Upcoming Worship

Please note: all services will be in person as well as live-streamed. Tracking
information will continue to be collected at in person services. Live
streaming will happen on our YouTube channel, and then be available for
viewing at your convenience.

Attention all Techies!: We would like to provide a chat room to our Sunday
services. This will require a host to moderate the conversation and engage
the online people as appropriate. You should be able to attend the service
live, and also monitor and contribute to the chat (we can provide the
laptop and an appropriate place for this ministry). If you are comfortable
with the technology around chat rooms on YouTube, and could help us
out, contact the office .

McDougall United and Ogden United Church: are holding joint services
just as we did last summer. We will be reflecting on Ephesians and the
messages from this Epistle that are still relevant for our living. Rev. Bill
Weaver and Rev. Joanne Anquist will be sharing preaching and presiding
during this time.

Camp Kasota is Back: Camp Kasota has been booked for August 27—29, 2019. You

60th Anniversary Celebration & Community Fair: Save the date for September 19,
2021 at 12 pm. More information will be available as the date gets closer.

PROJECTS FOR OUR SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY: Now that we have a date for our
Anniversary Celebration, you’ll want to polish up your Covid projects. In planning our
60th anniversary celebration we hope you will share with us the fruits of your
activities. Perhaps you have been painting, writing or organized your photos. You
may be a knitter, a woodworker, a photographer, a quilter or bird watcher, a hiker
or a walker or have baked that perfect loaf of sourdough. Whether young or not so
young, please consider sharing your efforts for a display by sending an e-mail photo
of yourself with your hobby to the office@mcdunited.com Let us celebrate
McDougall’s talents.

Friday Coffee Time: Friday at 11:00 am. We meet Via Zoom. Over the Summer, coffee
time will continue, but we won’t be discussing any articles.

Coffee Fellowship group is held every Sunday at 9:30 am. Join us for conversation
with others from McDougall via Zoom. Please contact the office for the Zoom link.

Feed The Hungry—Volunteers Needed: This year McDougall is responsible for
providing 10-12 volunteers and $3000.00 for the Sunday, September 26th dinner at
St. Mary’s Cathedral Hall. Feed the Hungry will be continuing to provide bagged
lunches to guests from outside the Cathedral Hall to protect its guests and
volunteers. We will need 10-12 volunteers to help prepare approximately 500 bagged
lunches in one shift from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm. If you are interested in volunteering on
September 26th, please email Daren Patterson at daren.denise@gmail.com as there
will not be a sign-up sheet this year.

Name a Room Contest: As we look forward to being able to meet in the church
again, here is an opportunity for a little contest. On our lower level most of the
rooms were given Biblical names (Garden of Eden, Good Shepherd, God’s Rainbow,
Ruth Hall, Sarah Hall, Burning Bush, Holy Grounds), but four being used exclusively
by Janus Academy were not named. Since Janus is no longer using these rooms, the
congregation is invited to suggest names to identify them. All have been recently
fixed up and repainted. Send your suggestions to John Naylor
at john@mcdunited.com Choice of names will be announced at the 60th anniversary
celebrations in the Fall. See you soon!

   We acknowledge the history, culture and spirituality of the Siksika, Kainai, Pikani,
Tsuut’ina and Nakoda peoples of Treaty 7, and their traditional territories within which
McDougall United Church resides. We are proud, as Canadians, to share in the ongoing
 Treaty relationship with Indigenous people, and in the special relationship we honour
         with the Metis Nation of Alberta and their many members in Region 3
                              (Calgary-Southern Alberta).
