This report is produced on a quarterly basis and provides personnel with accurate
information concerning personnel actions that occur throughout the year. Included are
commendations, recognitions, appreciations, disciplinary actions, and complaint
dispositions for sworn and civilian personnel.
Division, section, and unit commanders are requested to ensure that all personnel are
made aware of this information and that a copy of this report is posted in each
division/section/unit for the next ten (10) days.

He learned of the offending vehicle’s
location, determined the suspect’s
name, and then swore out a warrant,
prompting an arrest.
Officer Alberto Barajas Valladares 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his
outstanding assistance to a motorist
whose car had broken down along a
busy on-ramp.
Officer Taylor Banks 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his
praiseworthy investigation of a drug
dealer. He drafted a search warrant
and, with assistance from the
Narcotics Street Enforcement Unit,
recovered methamphetamine, illegal
pills, codeine, marijuana, and drug
paraphernalia.
Officer Alberto Barajas Valladares 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his
remarkable arrest of a very dangerous
individual with an outstanding warrant
for Murder and Robbery 1st.
Officer Jan Dykes 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for her
significant investigation of a stolen
trailer. She received information that
started a chain of events where the
victim identified his trailer and it was
returned to him.
2Officers Chase Lambert, Paige 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their superb
Young and Kevin Carrillo investigation of an apartment fire,
which was a suspected arson case. A
victim of the fire was located and
mentioned her boyfriend may have
started the fire. Their investigation
resulted in his arrest for arson.
Officers Christopher Marks, 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their top-
Cameron Chesser, Michael Pugh, notch response to a victim who had a
William Smallwood, and Randall gun pointed at him while the
Richardson perpetrator demanded his vehicle
keys. They developed information
about the suspect’s whereabouts,
which led to his arrest and the seizure
of drug paraphernalia and a long gun.
Detective Andrew Wilder 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his tireless
efforts with the recent on-site
assessment of the Kentucky Regional
Computer Forensics Laboratory
(KRCFL) by the American National
Standards Institute Accreditation
Board. The assessment included an
evaluation of his individual
competencies, in which he excelled.
Officers Logan Purtlebaugh and 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for observing
James Walsh four male juveniles at a self-service
register who matched the description
of suspects from several reports of
stolen vehicles and credit cards. The
four suspects were ultimately charged
with offenses related to their crime
spree.
Officers Joshua Forshee and 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their
Aaron Sauer admirable response to a domestic
altercation with violence. The suspect
became violent towards the officers as
soon as they approached him, but
they made the arrest calmly and
efficiently, using minimal force and de-
escalation tactics.
Officer Leah Schweitzer 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for her estimable
presentation to the Forensic Science
class at Assumption High School.
Officer Lamont Washington 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his excellent
presentation to the Fraternal Order of
Police (FOP) associates at their
meeting.
3Officer Bryan Arnold 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his
exceptional assistance in providing the
Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) with an aerial view of our city,
while outlining important
communication needs to improve
public safety efforts.
Detective W. Scott Claxon and 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their
Crime Scene Technician exemplary response to a school
Christiana Vance threat. They positively identified the
perpetrator and relayed time-sensitive
information in order to bring about a
swift conclusion.
Lieutenants Dale Massey and Jill 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their
Hume extraordinary assistance during the
entire Papa John's 10 Miler.
Ms. Stephanie Herring 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for her first-rate
assistance and participation during the
National Integrated Ballistics
Information Network (NIBIN) regional
meeting.
Officers Charles Grider, 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their highly
Christopher Eaton, Joe Clarkson, regarded response to an armed
and Jacob McIntosh kidnapping. The suspect's vehicle was
located, and a perimeter was set up
while the Special Weapons And
Tactics (SWAT) Team and Hostage
Negotiation Team (HNT) were called
to assist in rescuing children. They
handled the calls for service during the
busiest part of their shift.
Officers Logan Purtlebaugh and 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their
James Walsh impressive response regarding
possible suspects cooking
methamphetamine in a hotel room.
The tenants allowed them into the
room, where they discovered two
females wanted on several
outstanding warrants.
Methamphetamine, marijuana, and
black heroin were seized. Both
females were arrested and an arrest
warrant was taken out on a male
suspect.
4Detective Ronald Godfrey, 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their laudable
Officers Joshua Risinger, response to a theft from vehicle report
Brandon Clark, Matthew LaFave, in which four firearms were taken. Two
Maggie Luking, and Chad suspects were identified through a
Ledington tenacious investigation, which led to
several others being charged.
Eventually all four firearms were
recovered. Nominated for the
Exceptional Merit Award.
Detective Willie Ortiz 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his notable
assistance with translating
conversations, which has helped to
locate victims and witnesses in order
to gather information and successfully
prosecute a case. Nominated for the
Exceptional Merit Award.
Officers Christopher Marks, 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for their
Randall Richardson, Michael outstanding response to a shooting.
Pugh, William Smallwood, and The victim was losing a large amount
James Walsh of blood from a wound in the right leg
and officers applied lifesaving first aid.
Nominated for the Distinguished
Lifesaving Award.
Officer Detrick Briggs 4/01/2019 Commendation letter for his
remarkable response when he
conducted a traffic stop. The driver
was distraught and pulled a knife,
threatening his own life. Officer Briggs
calmly talked him into putting the knife
down and the man allowed Officer
Briggs to transport him to the hospital.
Nominated for the Distinguished
Lifesaving Award.
Lieutenant Micah Scheu and 4/16/2019 Appreciation letter for their superb
Officer Erik Velten assistance to a citizen who fell and
suffered serious head injuries.
Officers Devyn Harris, Hydia 4/16/2019 Appreciation letter for their assistance
Lockhart, Eric McDonald, and to the Middletown Police Department
Gregory Streever when an armed subject pointed a
handgun at several individuals in a
parking lot.
5Lieutenant Micah Scheu 4/16/2019 Appreciation letter for his cooperation
with the Jefferson County Attorney's
Office in the enforcement of traffic
laws. They value his ongoing efforts in
the implementation of traffic details
designed to focus on distracted
driving, speeding, sober driving, and
seat belt laws.
Officers Brittany Gillock and Sara 4/16/2019 Appreciation letter for their exceptional
Banta presentation to over 100 preschool
children about stranger danger.
Detective Robert Ward 4/16/2019 Appreciation letter for his admirable
assistance to a juvenile after she was
in a car accident.
Officer Ryan Stow, Christopher 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for their
Bond, and Jonathan Story excellent assistance to the 9th Mobile
Division on a residential search
warrant.
Officer Juwan Wise 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for identifying a
stolen car while off-duty.
Officer Jeffery Hughes and 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for their
Kirsten Black extraordinary arrest of a burglary
suspect. When detained, the suspect
still had stolen merchandise from the
burglary.
Detective Curt Flynn 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his
extraordinary investigation and
apprehension of a wanted suspect for
multiple warrants, including a
Convicted Felon in Possession of a
Handgun and domestic violence
offenses.
Officer Michael Jackson 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his first-rate
response to a call of an individual who
had been robbed at gunpoint. He
immediately spotted a possible
suspect, made a tactical approach,
and controlled the subject's
movements until another officer
arrived and placed him into custody
without incident.
Officer Jeffrey Bishop 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his highly
regarded response to a report of
gunshots. He located a victim, found
the suspect, and recovered the gun.

impressive creation of roll call training
on homicide investigations for his
platoon.
Detective Tony Sumerall 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his laudable
efforts and good conduct regarding an
investigation, which, largely due to his
efforts, resulted in a favorable court
outcome.
Sergeant Matt Ditch 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his notable
roll call training. He brought in a guest
Jiu-Jitsu instructor from CORE
Combat Sports and converted the
locker room into a safe training area.
The officers learned valuable
strategies to effectuate arrests of
combative suspects.
Officer Johnny Burgraff 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his
outstanding presentation to the Telugu
Association of Kentuckiana.
Officer Alexander Rueff 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his
praiseworthy response to the report of
a purse snatching/robbery. His
investigation resulted in the positive
identification and arrest of the suspect.
Ms. Jennifer Hill 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for providing
exceptional customer service to a man
whose reports could not be located.
He was very appreciative for her extra
efforts.

Sergeant Leigh Ann Burke, 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for their
Detectives Sarah Mangle, Jerry remarkable response to a father
Armes, Derrick Williams, Lauren searching for his daughter. Their
McClure, Robyn Jennings, Jacob tenacious investigation resulted in the
Kerger, and Tony Grant arrest of a dangerous perpetrator. The
young lady was located after she
escaped through a window, and they
returned another missing girl to her
parents.
7Detective Anthony Gipson 4/16/2019 Commendation letter for his thorough
response to a victim of a voyeur who
was peeping in her windows. She was
grateful for the security
recommendations he offered.
Officer Ed Johnson 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his admirable
response to a suspicious person
checking car doors. He located a
suspect who was carrying a stolen
computer from one of the cars.
Ms. Kaden Pendleton-Deramus 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for her estimable
assistance to a citizen during a difficult
time.
Officers Ryan Kays, Meagon 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for their
Watson, and Jay Dolak excellent response to a domestic
violence run. Although the suspect
was gone upon their arrival, they
found him nearby and arrested him,
which resulted in the seizure of a large
amount of marijuana and U.S.
currency.
Officer Charles Meek 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his
exceptional response when a robbery
suspect was attempting to extort
money from the victim. They created
a plan, located the suspect, and
detained him without incident.
Officers James Fischer, Jason 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for their
Maguire, Stephen Roederer, exemplary teamwork pertaining to an
Megan Arnold, and Roger investigation resulting in the recovery
Marcum of various narcotics, bullet resistant
vests, a handgun, and a rifle with two
loaded magazines.
Sergeant Andreas Shabaan 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his valiant
response to a woman threatening to
harm herself with a knife. Sgt.
Shabaan compassionately built a
rapport and worked his way into a
position so he could grab the knife and
control her movements. She was
transported to University of Louisville
Hospital to receive help. Nominated
for the Distinguished Lifesaving
Award.
8Officer Deanna Thomas 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for her heroic
lifesaving efforts on a student who
collapsed in the school gym. She and
a teacher administered Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) until
Louisville Metro Emergency Medical
Services (LMEMS) arrived. The
student survived because of her
diligence. Nominated for the
Distinguished Lifesaving Award.
Officer Sam Mason, Ian Stuart, 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for their highly
and Robert Andres regarded response to a male who was
suffering from a gunshot wound to the
left thigh. The victim was extremely
combative, but they were able to
successfully treat him until LMEMS
arrived. The hospital staff stated that
their quick actions were responsible
for the victim’s survival. Nominated for
the Distinguished Lifesaving Award.
Ms. Amy McTyeire 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for her
exceptional services as the Executive
Administrator on the Chief’s Staff.
She assured that the LMPD staff had
the financial resources to obtain the
tools needed to serve and protect our
community. Posthumously nominated
for the Exceptional Merit Award.
Officer Kevin Carrillo 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his
impressive response to a 10-year-old
student who received threatening text
messages from her father. The
suspect had an extensive violent
criminal history and was wanted on
four domestic violence-related
warrants. He ensured the family was
in a safe location and then began
searching for the suspect. The
suspect barricaded himself inside a
home. The Domestic Violence Unit
(DVU) responded to the scene and the
suspect surrendered before the SWAT
Team arrived. Nominated for the
Exceptional Merit Award.
9Officer Brittany O'Neil 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for her laudable
response to a violent situation. She
defused it, preventing further harm to
a domestic violence victim and got the
armed suspect to comply with verbal
commands. The suspect was arrested
and charged with Assault 1st Degree.
Nominated for the Exceptional Merit
Award.
Officer Christen Branan 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for her notable
response to an overdose victim. She
successfully administered Naloxone to
the victim, which was the deciding
factor in keeping the victim alive until
emergency medical personnel arrived.
Nominated for the Distinguished
Lifesaving Award, Tier 2.
Officer Thomas Coleman 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his
outstanding response to a trouble run.
When he arrived, he saw smoke
coming from a second story window.
He entered the residence and brought
six people to safety. The last resident
was oxygen dependent, immobile, and
would have been unable to exit the
house without his assistance.
Nominated for the Medal of Honor
Award.
Officers Christopher Cannon and 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for their
Anthony Altes praiseworthy response to assist on a
fire run. They learned an elderly
female was trapped and yelling for
help. Through thick black smoke, they
placed their safety at-risk and entered
the burning apartment, where they
found her inside a bathroom tub and
carried her to safety. Nominated for
the Medal of Honor Award.
Mr. Michael Medley 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for his
remarkable assistance to a customer
who had been attempting to get a
report submitted. He followed up with
the officer and lieutenant. When the
report was uploaded, he sent the
report to the customer.
10Lieutenants Jason Grissom, 4/22/2019 Commendation letter for their
William Vogt, Raymond Kiefer, significant handling of three separate
Detectives Kendra McNally, Joe major incidents in one day. They also

family was given a ride home at the
end of their shift.

assistance to a senior walking alone
and having a tough time after Thunder
Over Louisville. She gave him a ride
home.
Officers Paul Fenwick and Derek 5/02/2019 Appreciation letter for their admirable
Hayes assistance during an incident
regarding an individual with a
disability.
Lieutenant Grant Riggs and 5/02/2019 Appreciation and commendation
Officer Tony Sacra letters for their estimable response to
an incident where a ballistic vest cover
was left hanging at a local high school.
The surveillance video captured the
incident and the student was
contacted while near the school with a
firearm and ammunition. The
investigation led to the arrest of two
juveniles for related offenses.
Nominated for the Medal of Valor
Award.
Messrs. Dan Gillespie, Travis 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for their
Eicher, Michael Luffman, James excellent attitude. They have assisted
"Brent" Monroe, Mses. Ryan the Downtown Area Patrol (DAP) and
Conrad and Kirstie Willis the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT)
with operations. Their support
increases the likelihood of success for
units like these.
Officer Alberto Barajas Valladares 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for his
exceptional assistance to a motorist
whose vehicle had broken down by
the side of the ramp to Interstate 265.
Officer Woody Murphy 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for his
exemplary assistance to an elderly
woman who was having trouble
crossing the street. He blocked the
westbound lane and personally
escorted her across the lanes of
traffic.
12Officer William Burns 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for his
extraordinary follow-up of a previous
narcotics arrest. He gained consent to
search the subject's residence and
recovered methamphetamine and
evidence of narcotics trafficking. A
police canine indicated positively on
the subject's vehicle where more
narcotics, a loaded handgun, and a
large amount of U.S. currency were
found.
Officer Tonya Landry 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for her
observation of a suspicious subject
next to a disabled vehicle with an
abandoned sticker. Through
investigation, she learned the suspect
broke into the car and was in
possession of illegal narcotics.
Officers Joshua Richards and 5/02/2019 Commendation letter for their notable
Tyler Reed arrests after conducting a traffic stop
of a stolen vehicle leaving a house
they were watching. The stop yielded
the stolen vehicle, a handgun
possessed by a felon, suspected
heroin and methamphetamine,
assorted drug paraphernalia, a
counterfeit $20 bill, and a forged
check. Two suspects were arrested for
multiple felonies.
Officer Peyton Harris 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for his highly
regarded arrest when he recovered a
stolen truck. Several cases were
cleared thanks to his keen observation
and investigative skills.
Detective Kevin McKinney 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for his
impressive presentation to the Chief's
Youth Police Advisory Council.
Officers Jeremy Wright and 5/06/2019 Appreciation letter for their exemplary
DeGerald Watson-Morton presentation and interaction with
parents of the Lincoln Foundation.
13Officers Logan Wolff, Dallas 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their
Constant, Daniel Minton, Patrick outstanding teamwork regarding a
Dahlgren, Gregory Doherty, kidnapping at gunpoint involving two
Corey Mills, and Trevor Troutman young children. Officers maintained a
perimeter and held the scene for over
five hours. The suspect surrendered
and the two kidnapped children were
rescued.
Officers Levi McDermott and 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their
Crystal Powell praiseworthy assistance to a 3-year-
old child walking alone in an
apartment complex. They took the
child door-to-door and after almost 1.5
hours, they were able to locate the
mother.
Officers Tyler Blissett, Jay Dolak, 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their
Jeffrey Emerich, Seth Goodlett, remarkable traffic stop, which yielded
and Chase Lambert the recovery of marijuana packaged
for sale. The suspect admitted to
having more at his house and gave
consent to search it, where they
located more marijuana, illegally
obtained pills, scales, and a gun.
Detective Curt Flynn 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for his significant
arrest of a robbery suspect and the
recovery of a hidden handgun. The
suspect was a convicted felon and
was charged accordingly.
Officers Charles Meek and 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their superb
Ricardo Miller investigation of a possible fire. They
retrieved their fire extinguishers and
extinguished the fire before the first
Louisville Fire units arrived. The family
inside the house had no idea they
were in danger.
Officer Seth Goodlett 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for his superior
initiative when he traveled to
Nashville, Tennessee at his own
expense to attend a Caliber Press
training called Read-Recognize-
Respond. Roll call training was then
created, which provided vital
information that will help fellow officers
improve their ability to recognize an
impending assault before it happens.
14Officers Alexander Dugan and 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their top-
Charles Mathieson notch police work. While conducting a
narcotics investigation, they observed
a subject putting out his trash and
recognized him as a man with an
outstanding nationwide extradition
warrant. They arrested him without
incident.
Officers Patrick Norton and 5/06/2019 Commendation letter for their
Garrett Blackman thorough response after hearing
gunshots in their area. They
approached a home where a subject
walked out the front door and then ran
back inside. They secured a search
warrant after detecting a strong odor
of marijuana and seized marijuana
packaged for sale, drug paraphernalia,
and four handguns, two of which were
confirmed stolen. Four suspects were

Williams response to an intoxicated subject
who was shooting at people and
apartment buildings. The suspect shot
at officers Garcia and Williams with a
shotgun. Using cover, they pursued
the armed man to a building. When
SWAT Team officers arrived, the
suspect exited the building alone,
followed by three juveniles and a
female. The victim stated the suspect
fired several shells at her and her
apartment. A search warrant resulted
in the recovery of a shotgun and
several shotgun shells. Nominated for
the Exceptional Merit Award.

inside of a semi-truck. The mother got
a general location from the tablet’s
GPS and told the dispatchers.
Working with nearby agencies and
information relayed by dispatchers,
officers coordinated a plan to locate
the truck and effectuate a traffic stop,
where they peacefully took the
suspect into custody. They saved the
victim from further harm. Nominated

adults were reveling in Derby
festivities. There was binge drinking,
urinating, and vomiting throughout the
yards and alley with several
individuals so intoxicated they needed
medical attention. Three crime
reduction teams from the Fourth
Division, the Air Unit, Mounted Patrol,
and officers stationed nearby
responded. After almost 90 minutes,
the crowd was finally dispersed. Five
young adults were rescued and
transported to the hospital. Only two
arrests were made without the use of
force.
Officers Tonya Landry and Dan 5/24/2019 Commendation letter for their
Weedman remarkable apprehension of a subject
based on a trespassing complaint
from a local store and an outstanding
warrant from Hardin County. Through
a thorough investigation, they learned
he had an active account at a pawn
shop and had pawned or sold a large
volume of merchandise which totaled
approximately $5,000. A log at the
pawn shop revealed two subjects had
stolen more than $60,000 worth of
merchandise from various locations.

23Officer Anthony McMahan 5/24/2019 Commendation letter for his significant
investigation and follow-up of a
possible child trafficking situation
involving a young runaway. The
victim's sister received a phone call
from a suspicious phone number.
Officer McMahan determined the
general GPS locality and began
canvassing the area. He found the
victim after the captor agreed to drop
the juvenile off to get food. The
suspect was actively attempting to
acquire a counterfeit passport to
smuggle the juvenile to Cuba. Officer
McMahan coordinated with the Crimes
Against Children Unit (CACU) and
they took over the investigation.

Joseph Howell apprehension of an armed, convicted
felon during a joint operation with the
Bullitt County Task Force. They were
first in the area and quickly located the
suspect's vehicle. The suspect fled,
entered an apartment, and attempted
to close the door. The suspect pulled
a revolver from his pants pocket, but
they grabbed the suspect's hand and
gained control of the gun. The suspect
was detained without serious injury to
the suspect or officers. Nominated for

apprehended, the wanted subject.

violence scene. The victim had been
severely beaten and strangled with an
electrical cord. A search for the
suspect resulted in quickly arresting

Eastman, and Thomas Coleman vehicle that was reported stolen. The
vehicle also matched the description
of one used in two robberies. They

charging the suspects with two
robberies.

to a veteran in-crisis. The veteran had
a mental breakdown. After two hours,
the veteran emerged and made
contact. As he started to walk back to
his apartment, Officer Conner told him
he had served in the service too. The
veteran then asked for help and was
taken to the hospital.

regarded investigative skills. Using
surveillance information, he was able
to identify a prolific offender who had
over fifty involvements in I/leads and

officers established a rapport with the
suspect until HIP officers responded
and took custody of the suspect.
Officer Timothy Huber 6/04/2019 Commendation letter for his laudable
response to a suspect firing a firearm
at a public intersection. Officer Huber
observed a vehicle stop and the driver
fired multiple shots into the air. He got
behind the vehicle and gave
commands. With backup, he
conducted a felony traffic stop. The
suspect was placed into custody
without incident.

actions during a Crisis Intervention
Team (CIT) event. The individual
made verbal threats to harm himself
and his family. The family called police
and fled the home. He gained the
person’s trust and brought about a
peaceful resolution.
Officers Camron Kriz, Lacey 6/04/2019 Commendation letter for their
Ezell, and William Greenwell outstanding response to a domestic
violence run. The complainant advised
his girlfriend became violent and then
left their infant at his house. They
ensured the safety of the complainant
and the infant, then made contact with
the suspect, who advised them she
was not coming back. After six hours,
Shively Police Department officers
arrested the suspect.

heroin overdose. He successfully

to a freak accident. She suffered a
serious laceration to her left arm and

of blood. When LMEMS were delayed,
the officers applied lifesaving aid
which controlled the bleeding. She
was stabilized by the time LMEMS
arrived. Nominated for the
Distinguished Lifesaving Award.
Officers Christopher Bruce and 6/04/2019 Commendation letter for their
John Moore admirable arrest of a subject who was
actively committing violent felonies.
They arrived and began tracking the
suspect’s location on foot, when he
shot at Officer Moore. The officers
chased after him, using cover
throughout the foot pursuit. Ultimately,
a civilian witness of the robbery
confronted the subject and the subject
shot him in the face. They assessed
his injuries and called for LMEMS and
more backup. Officer Bruce positioned
himself ahead of the suspect and the
suspect ran directly towards him. The

situation. The subject was on the HIP,
armed with two knives, and in crisis.
He maintained a compassionate tone
and assured the individual he was
there to help. The subject eventually
came out unarmed and was taken for
medical evaluation.
Officers Allison Grider and 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for their superb
Michelle Rusch efforts that helped to apprehend a
thief responsible for numerous
package thefts. The subject was also
wanted for previous shoplifting
charges.
30Officers Peyton Harris, Jacob 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for their
McIntosh, Dallas Constant, and apprehension of a serious felony
Connor Maloney shoplifter who pushed out carts of
merchandise from a rear stockroom at
a local store. The suspect attempted
to flee with the stolen goods but was
placed under arrest. The suspect had
driven to the location in a stolen truck.
Multiple cases were cleared.
Officers Patrick Dahlgren, Jacob 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for their valiant
McIntosh, Joe Clarkson, Trevor response to a series of violent
Troutman, Dallas Constant, Corey business robberies. Over the course
Mills, Peyton Harris, Carson of a few hours, four businesses were
Hertelendy, Larry Key, and robbed at gunpoint. A witness
Connor Maloney provided the direction of travel and
officers responded. The suspects’
vehicle was found abandoned near a
wood line and a perimeter was
immediately established. With the help
of a police canine, AIR 20, and the
Robbery Unit, the suspects were
apprehended.

expertise in answering their questions
was greatly appreciated.

Officer Brett Ringswald 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for his
exemplary observation skills when
talking to a person parked illegally in a
handicapped spot. Officer Ringswald
smelled marijuana coming from the
vehicle. The driver admitted he had
marijuana in the vehicle, resulting in a
search yielding more than a dozen
baggies of marijuana individually
packaged for sale. The driver was
arrested and charged accordingly.
31Officer Cody Pfeiffer 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for his
extraordinary efforts to close a long-
term narcotics investigation. A search
warrant yielded marijuana,
methamphetamine, heroin, Xanax
bars, two stolen handguns, and a
large amount of U.S. currency. The
suspect was arrested on numerous
counts.
Officers Christopher Bond and 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for their first-rate
Alan Ware investigation of a narcotics trafficker
who was targeting homeless camps.
The trafficker was located in a tent
with large amounts of
methamphetamine, heroin, spice, and
crack cocaine in plain sight. He was
arrested but released on his own
recognizance. They located the
subject, again trafficking in narcotics
at the same homeless camp. The
subject fled on foot but was arrested
again after a brief foot chase.
Officer Leah Schweitzer 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for her highly
regarded field interview of a
suspicious person. She obtained the
subject's information and released the
subject as no criminal acts could be
verified. Shortly after, Greymoor-
Devondale police officers located a
residence that had been burglarized.
Notified of this information, she was
able to locate the person who she
detained earlier. The person
confessed to the burglary along with
other offenses.
Messrs. Brandon Jones, Roger 6/17/2019 Commendation letter for their
Bohannon, Kevin Gardner, Keith impressive completion of a
Burke, Joe Roach, and Larry commemorative car door to honor
Rodgers of Public Works Detective Deidre Mengedoht. The
door was placed at the National Law
Enforcement Memorial Wall in
Washington D.C. during National
Police Week 2019.
