Regionalism
 The Grizzlies are making an active attempt to grow the range of people who
  consider the Grizzlies their hometown team
 Last September the Grizzlies Caravan visited Nashville, St. Louis, Jackson, Miss.,
  Jackson, Tenn., and Little Rock. Fans in those cities had a chance to meet
  Quincy Pondexter, team mascot Grizz, the Grizz Girls and the Claw Crew
 The team partnered with the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau to offer
  fans at each regional stop entertainment and prizes including an opportunity to
  win a “Weekend to Memphis Getaway Package” for two

   The Grizzlies continue to deliver a
    strong locally and regionally
    televised broadcast schedule for
    Memphis and surrounding areas
   Through our broadcast
    partnership with SportSouth,
    Grizzlies fans as far as Peoria, IL,

    Little Rock, AR, Mobile, AL, to
    Knoxville and all points in between

 Local TV ratings have increased 200% since the 2010-11 season
 In the 2010-11 season, we ranked 22nd in local TV ratings
 Last season, the Grizzlies ranked 4th in the entire NBA in local television ratings
 Only Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Miami earned higher local ratings in
  their respective markets
 Memphis was the #1 rated non local TV market for Game 6 and 7
  of the NBA Finals

Sport Tourism in the Mid-South
 For two straight weeks in May 2013, the entire sports world was tuned into
  Memphis with the Western Conference Finals and the FedEx St. Jude Classic
 According to the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau, 55,235 people from
  outside the region visited Memphis for sport tourism in 2012, a 43% increase from
  2011. The events produced 39,610 room nights and $18.2 million in economic
  impact
 Along with the Grizzlies, the Memphis Tigers basketball helps attract these visitors
 The 2014 NCAA men’s basketball regional finals is expected to bring in 18,000
  visitors, 5,800 room nights, and a $5 million economic impact
 Memphis will be home to the inaugural 2014 AAC Men’s Basketball Tournament

Key Points:
1. Economic impact, defined by the spending
   of the Memphis Grizzlies, the operation of
   FedExForum, and all visitor spending, is
   estimated at $223 million
2. FedExForum and the Memphis Grizzlies are
   responsible for 1,534 jobs
3. Local tax revenue related to the Grizzlies
   and FedExForum is estimated at $5.3 million
   annually
4. With over 600,000 visitors to FedExForum per
   year, an estimated $4.9 million annually is
   spent outside FedExForum with an economic
   impact of $8.8 million annually
The Grizzlies Help Land Mitsubishi’s
Manufacturing Facility
 According to the Greater Memphis Chamber, when
  Memphis receives requests for information from site
  selectors, within the top 5 questions that the
  selectors ask is “Is Memphis home to a professional
  sports team?”
     Two reasons why they ask:

         1. Quality of Life
         2. Recruitment
 A Grizzlies signed basketball helped land Mitsubishi’s
  $200 million power transformer manufacturing facility
  in Memphis
 Plant is set to bring 275 jobs when at full production
  and began operating in April 2013

Conduit Global commits to Memphis
   Conduit Global is one of the world’s largest independent, fully-integrated BPO
    companies with expertise in multi-channel contact center and back office
    solutions
   Conduit plans to fill 300 positions within the first three months and eventually up
    to 1,000 jobs
   FedExForum as the front door to our community hosted the announcement
    made by our Governor and Mayors
Grizzlies Charitable Foundation
 Mission: To help prepare all children for success in college and career by
  supporting Memphis youth through mentoring and education.
 The Foundation provides:
      Volunteer mentor recruitment, training and retention programs and
       activities
      Program training and consulting
      Corporate Mentoring program design and development
      Partnership development and public awareness-building
 The Memphis Grizzlies Foundation has invested more than $30 million in local
  nonprofit organizations and schools supporting youth mentoring and
  education since 2001.
 Engaged thousands of volunteers, served tens of thousands of youth and
  raised awareness and support for quality education and mentoring programs
  community-wide
Grizzlies TEAM Mentoring Program
 In 2011, the Grizzlies Foundation launched Grizzlies TEAM Mentoring, a school-
  based mentoring program that pairs 3 volunteer mentors with 9 students to form
  one TEAM
 Partnered with Facing History and Ourselves to develop a middle school
  curriculum that combines academics, life skills and enrichment opportunities
 Teams meet weekly, exploring topics ranging from leadership and civic
  engagement to health and financial literacy
 The program services 180 students in four Memphis public charter schools

 Winner of the prestigious international
  Sport Team of the Year for the Beyond
  Sport Awards 2012. Other finalists
