Midday Supervisor (2 posts available)
Salary: GLPC Grade Point 7 £16,495 per annum pro-rated based on term time
working
Hours of Work: 6.25 hours per week
South Wilford C of E Primary School is looking for motivated, energetic and
organised individuals to become part of the midday supervisor team. The successful
candidates will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to
adapt their approach to suit the needs and different personalities of the children.

Applicants will be expected to show an interest in the children they are supervising
helping them to develop socially and they must exhibit a calm and reassuring
manner when dealing with any problems that may arise.

We would expect staff to be punctual and reliable and show a commitment to our
school and children. What we can offer in return is happy working environment with
friendly and well behaved children, a supportive and committed staff group and
enthusiastic parents. We can also offer training where required.

Vacancies available for both an immediate or September 2018 start.

Main Responsibilities

These roles will be focussed around the supervision, organisation and safeguarding
of children within the playground environment.

The successful candidate will;

   -   Oversee/supervise children on the playground. Identifying any issues that
       develop and deal with them promptly and fairly.

   -   Safeguard the children. Ensuring that the free play and games the children
       are participating in are safe, both for them and the other children on the
       playground.

   -   Help to assist the children with organising themselves when on the
       playground so as to develop their social and emotional skills.

   -   Organise and set up lunchtime equipment.

 Job title: Midday Supervisor

1 Job purpose
To supervise pupils during the lunch time period in a designated area having due
regard at all times to their health, safety and welfare.

2 Principal duties and responsibilities

   1. To control queues to the dining areas
   2. To mark registers as necessary
   3. To encourage dining arrangements that promote an orderly and pleasant meals
       service for pupils.
   4. To assist as required relieving any bottleneck at the serving points.
   5. To ensure that any spillage is removed quickly
   6. To see that the dining areas are left clean and tidy and tables are clean for the next
       occupant
   7. To supervise the return of used crockery and cutlery
   8. To wipe trays where necessary.
   9. To deal with pupils’ behaviour problems in the dining room and elsewhere and report
       any serious incidents to the Senior Midday Supervisor.
   10. To deal with accidents and any sickness and report them to the Senior Midday
       Supervisor.

3 All staff are expected to maintain high standards of customer care, to uphold the
Equality and Diversity Policy and health and safety standards and to participate in
training activities necessary to their post.

Terms and Conditions

Salary               GLPC Grade A Point 7. Full Time Equivalent Salary: £16,495
                     per annum. Your salary will be pro-rated depending on number
                     of hours and equated weeks’ calculation.

Place of work        South Wilford Endowed C of E Primary School, Main Road,
                     Wilford, Nottingham NG11 7AL. You may also be required to
                     work on other sites.

Hours                6.25 hours per week, term time only.

Annual leave         Term time only working so you will be on leave during periods of
                     school closure. Salary will be pro-rated based on previous Local
                     Government Service.

After the closing date, short listing will be conducted by a panel, who will match your
skills and experience against the criteria in the Person Specification.

      Documentary evidence of right to work in the UK
      Documentary evidence of identity that will satisfy DBS requirements such as a
       current driving licence including a photograph and/or a passport and/or a full
       birth certificate
