MORTGAGE UPDATE
MORTGAGES RATES
ARE STILL DROPPING
Mortgage loan rates have been consistently low for the past several months
and, as a result of social and economic events around the world, mortgage
rates recently dipped as low as they’ve been since October 2016. During the
last quarter, we saw the housing market fluctuate with rapid rate changes and
historic drops. This March alone, rates dropped, for some buyers, to numbers
below 3%.

Though rates may rise over the next quarter, experts predict loan rates will
average around 4% through the middle of 2020 with lows around 3.7%. For this
reason, the market is not only very active for homebuyers but refinancing an
existing mortgage could save some homeowners hundreds of dollars per month.

What Does This Mean for You?

Dropping rates means qualified buyers could save hundreds dollars per month
on a mortgage payment. If you’re looking for a new home or to refinance the
home you’re in, now is the time to do it.

Because the market is so competitive, however, it remains, technically, a seller’s
market and the demand for homes currently exceeds their availability. This
means there may be intense competition for good homes on the market and, if
you find a home you love, it’s smart to strike while the iron is hot. You can lock
in a low rate and secure a home that might be rapidly off-market.

If you have questions about how you can take advantage of dropping rates, contact one of
our mortgage professionals today. We’re here to help you easily navigate the home-buying
or refinancing process.
