Naturally developed innovations
What started in 1923 as a small company for the production of glue has over the
decades developed into a global brand. Inspired by his cooperation with wood
processing companies, company founder Jakob Friedrich Werz came up with
the idea of improving the natural wood and making it more versatile: He pressed
wood chips with glutin-based glue. He continuously perfected processes and
recipes until he succeeded in developing a revolutionary process in the mid-
1950s - the birth of Werzalit.
Werzalit is a patented, extremely resistant material composite with a con-
sistent, uniform material structure that is also biodegradable. Its versatil-
ity, problem-free processing and durability made Werzalit a byword amongst
wood-based materials. Since then, the various uses of Werzalit have been con-
tinuously improved and expanded. Be it for cladding façades, as a covering for
patios, for window sills or as outdoor furniture - Werzalit has proven itself mil-
lions of times.
The major plus of Werzalit are, in addition to its remarkable durability of shape,
colour and quality, the almost unlimited possibilities for decorative surfaces,
be they in terms of colour, structure or individual design wishes. Sustainability
and recycling are central to our use of resources. All products can be easily
recycled.

chanical stress and insects - ideal for outdoor use.

panel consists of decor papers with a UV layer or a reliable Renolit brand vinyl
film. The aluminium profiles are powder coated.
The options in our façade panel family is even more attractive. Together the
decorative paper soaked in melamine resin, one of the hardest resins, and the
transparent overlay form an almost indestructible surface. The structure of
the panel has been optimised precisely for use as façade cladding.
Used as a full façade, WERZALIT façade systems deliver the full benefits of
rain screen, rear-ventilated climatic façade. The ventilation space ensures
continuous air circulation. Moisture from construction and use is expelled,
thereby protecting the outer wall from potential damage that could limit func-
tionality. It may also be customised to different insulation thicknesses without
any additional problems. In this way, even the highest thermal requirements
can be met using common insulation materials.
WERZALIT materials pass extreme endurance tests such as swelling tests.
The material is exposed to various influences and climatic fluctuations bet-
ween -30 °C and +70 °C in special climatic chambers. Test façades have been
defying wind and weather on the WERZALIT test fields for 30 years. WERZALIT

WERZALIT façade systems are easy to process and cut using modern tools. If

The large area façade
square is one façade panel that really attracts attention in modern façade design.
The panels coated on both sides are available in two material thicknesses and three
formats.
With its generous format, square is not only suitable for cladding residential buildings,
but also for the design of industrial façades. square is available in the standard version
in fire protection class B2, but can also be supplied in fire protection class B1 for an
additional charge.
Easy to work with, versatile to assemble
The square cladding panel behaves like wood when working. It can be riveted, screwed
and glued. It can be attached using visible or concealed fixtures to either wooden or
metal substructures.
Cellulose layers/ kraft paper, which are
impregnated with resin, are pressed into a
homogeneous plate.
