King’s College | Orientation booklet 2019 3Welcome from
our Headmaster
Dear Student,
Welcome to King’s College for the 2019 school year and
beyond. We look forward to working with you in the coming
years as we offer to you a top quality education, along with a
life membership to King’s College.
It is an exciting time to be a part of King’s as we have launched
into a new era of teaching and learning with a clearly defined
philosophy. It is dedicated to ensuring you are equipped
with the skills and resources to achieve “the best all-round
education it is possible to attain” and to be successful in, what
will be for you, a very dynamic future.
Our House system is fundamental to our pastoral support
at King’s. Each House provides the sense of belonging and
inclusion within our College, no matter whether you are a
Boarder or Day student. I know you will enjoy being a part of
your House at the College.
Integral to our model of pastoral support is our Chapel,
the physical and spiritual heart of the College. This value-
rich culture allows you to develop essential life skills and
experience to ensure your future success.
I hope you will take advantage of the opportunities that we
make available here for you across the academic, spiritual,
cultural and sporting spheres. I encourage you to involve
yourself as much as possible into our College life. It has much
to offer. The more you involve yourself, the more you’ll gain
from the experience.
Virtus Pollet.
