AREA OVERVIEW   Russellville is a city located in the northeastern part of
                Franklin County with a population of 9,815 in 2016.
                Franklin County, Alabama is centrally located between
                Birmingham, Memphis and Nashville, near Interstate
                22, close to the Tennessee River and the Tennessee
                Tombigbee Waterway.

                The growing city of Russellville offers the convenience
                of major retailers, restaurants, recreational amenities,
                and a strong industrial base. The authority invests in
                workforce development programs and provides
                assistance with new construction and expansion
                projects. Working with the Alabama Department of
                Commerce and local governments, as well
                as TVA and Alabama Power, Franklin County offers

                food-related, automotive-related and metals industries

                features many recreational attractions, including Bear
                Creek Lakes, The Roxy and the Dismal’s Canyon. The
                Roxy Theater is a main attraction in Russellville where
                visitors and locals can enjoy musical events on the
                weekends. The annual "Watermelon Festival" is held
                each August in downtown Russellville, in which a
                carnival event is held by the chamber of commerce to
                to ignite interest in Franklin county and the
                surrounding areas.
