THE ORGANIZATION
Recognized Industry Leaders
Gensler is leading global conversations around the future of work, education, entertainment, travel, and public en-
gagement in a post-covid world. Leadership at all levels are regularly invited to participate in speaking engagements
and are sought-out by top media outlets - such as Forbes, Metropolis, and The Wall Street Journal - as spokespeople
on how design is shaping the future of our cities. They are consistently ranked #1 among their competitors by publi-
cations such as Architectural Record, Building Design + Construction, ENR, and Interior Design Magazine. In 2020,
they were recognized by Fast Company as one of the most important design companies, and for the fourth year in a
row, were named one of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work.

Research at the Core
As a purpose-driven, global community, research is at the heart of everything Gensler does. Whether it is under-
standing how Covid-19 has affected how people want to work, or uncovering how people are rethinking urban life,
they leverage the Gensler Research Institute to explore the intersection of design, business, and the human experi-
ence. Through a combination of research grants and proprietary, longitudinal research studies, they seek insights
that will help solve the world’s most pressing challenges, unlocking new solutions and strategies that will define the
future of design. The firm is also making significant investments in innovative platforms, developing its own software
applications, investing in data-driven design, and growing exciting new partnerships with its clients.

THE OPPORTUNITY MARKET LEADER—WORKPLACE INTERIORS
Gensler’s “one-firm firm” global and local leadership network has never been more important than it is now across
each of its 26 practice areas. In the Northwest Region, Gensler is fortunate to be in an epicenter of innovation that
creates world-changing technology and houses the brightest visionaries. The Gensler Northwest Region spans from
San Jose, through the Bay Area, up to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, BC, and is enjoying impressive growth.
Gensler is situated in a time and place of immense possibility as the pace of invention and creativity is fast moving
and requires nimble and expert leadership—this is where the Portland office Market Leader comes in.

Rose Haven Community Day Center, Portland, OR

With a strong platform of global, regional and local support, and reporting to the Portland Office’s Principal, Gensler is
seeking a visionary business and design leader to instrumentally build the Workplace Interiors practice for its Portland
operation, which covers Oregon and Northern Washington, in the critical role of Market Leader.

Gensler is looking for a candidate who is capable of growing its Portland operations through Gensler’s most notable
practice area—Workplace Interiors. The Market Leader should drive business development through ongoing industry
and community engagement, as well as overseeing the early design phases to ensure project success. They should
demonstrate strong business acumen and a track record of revenue growth, and know how to engage professional
staff in a people-first environment. With strong ties to the Portland area’s many communities and institutions, this is a
rare opportunity for a civic-minded Market Leader to grow Gensler’s presence across the region.
