The Confirmation program here at Our Mother of Good Counsel will be
starting soon for the 2018-2019 year! Open to all high school aged youths
who are interested in continuing their faith journey in receiving the sacrament
of Confirmation - the third Sacrament of Initiation in our Catholic Tradition. It is
a vital milestone on a young person's faith journey and development as a
Catholic.
Our Confirmation program is two consecutive years of preparation for the
sacrament; which includes service opportunities, retreats, youth nights, and
classes every month. We will be starting off the year with a parent / student
orientation meeting located at the St. Augustine Parish Center on August 19th
at 2:00pm for new incoming students and at 3:00pm for returning candidates. If you have any further questions please
email me at OMGC.Confirmation@gmail.com

Yes, It's amazing and it seems like last week we were having
our RCIA students fully initiated into our wonderful church. But
it's that time, when we need to begin fanning the flames for
those who are curious or intending to become fully incorporated
into and/or to learn more about this incredible faith we share.
Please contact Fr. Tom Davis, OSA at (323) 664-2111 ext.128 or at
our email address: rcia.omgcparish@gmail.com with inquiries
and sign-up information. These informative classes begin
September 13th and will continue every two weeks on Thursday
evenings, meeting in our Plaza Community Room at 7:00 PM.
Anytime is a great time to learn more about our faith!
I look forward to seeing you there.

CHANCE BOOTH COLLECTIONS
HAVE STARTED COMIN IN!
It is never too early to begin gathering prizes for our most popular and
profitable Festival Booth.
Our goal is 700+ Chance Booth items and they may range anywhere
from a new TV to a box of tea bags; a bicycle to a beach towel; a
PlayStation to a pencil case… Sister Marian used to say that it needs to
be worth $1 or more—That’ll work. Multiples of the same thing or
promotional items are fine too. Anything (as long as it is appropriate for
the church or school to be giving out).
Drop-off at parish office during the week.
As long as what you bring is new, we are very happy to receive it.
Thank you!
Have you been keeping cool this
summer by staying indoors
and cleaning out your closets?
If so, it's ALMOST time to donate your no longer
needed items to our annual Rummage Sale! Your
donations are 100% profit for the school and we
appreciate all of your efforts in both donating and
volunteering! Because this is an effort of our school
families, as soon as we return for classes and have
our volunteers lined up, RUMMAGE COLLECTION
DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED. We ask that you do not
drop off anything prior to the announced collection
dates. As always, we appreciate your patience.
