PATIENT CENTERED CARE
PROGRAMME

                THE 35TH CONGRESS OF THE
SCANDINAVIAN SOCIETY OF ANAESTHESIOLOGY
             AND INTENSIVE CARE MEDICINE
                  COPENHAGEN AUGUST 28-30 2019
SSAI - PATIENT CENTERED CARE PROGRAMME - SSAI 2019
WELCOME TO THE SSAI CONGRESS 2019
The theme of this congress is “Patient-centered care”. This is in line with one of the aims of the
Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine which is to promote safe,
modern and effective care of our patients. The scientific programme covers a wide range of topics
within anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, intensive care medicine, pain medicine, emergency
critical care, and prehospital medicine. In addition, we have included sessions on non-technical
skills, ethics, and education as these these aspects are critically important for our patients. For
the first time, we have also a Nordic young anaesthesiologists’ session.

We are proud to have numerous prominent key note speakers, including the world famous John
Ioannidis (Henning Ruben lecture), Kjetil Sunde (Acta lecture), Tanja Manser (Asmund Laerdal
lecture), and the President of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists, and Jannicke
Mellin-Olsen (Husfeldt lecture).

Free papers will be presented orally at dedicated sessions in the lecture rooms and there are also
moderated poster walks during lunch breaks. In this way, we wish to highlight the new research
findings and promote interaction between the presenters, delegates and faculty.

The venue offers great opportunities for informal meetings and discussions but do not forget to
spend some time in the city of Copenhagen. We are proud that our city has been chosen as the
best city to visit 2019 by travelers at Lonely Planet. You will have to find out why, but we suggest
that you explore the harbour area, the green oases, the restaurants, cafes, and food markets.
We hope to see many of you at the welcome reception at the Copenhagen City Hall and at the
Congress Dinner in the Tivoli Gardens.

WE WISH YOU AN INFORMATIVE AND ENJOYABLE STAY
AT THE SSAI 2019 CONGRESS
On behalf of the Organising Committeee
Lars S Rasmussen
Congress President
