Who We Are

The Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® services over 2000 members in
the Pasadena, Altadena, San Marino, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta,
Sunland-Tujunga communities and beyond.

The Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® is the champion for the
professional practice of real estate, private property rights, homeownership and a
thriving community.
Our Story

The Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® was originally founded in 1907 as
the Pasadena Realty Board, with the purpose of promoting good fellowship and
fair dealing within the real estate industry, thus protecting both the real estate
professional and the consumer. Over the years, the organization has expanded to
provide members with the tools, education and opportunities to succeed in an
ever-changing environment.

In 1997, the Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® was formed as a merger
among three boards: Pasadena, San Marino-South Pasadena and the Foothills
(comprised of La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta and Sunland-Tujunga). The
formation of the Pasadena-Foothills Association gives REALTORS® and the public
an even stronger voice in the protection and promotion of private property rights,
while fostering the ultimate American dream of home ownership. We have also
produced four Presidents of the California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) and
an Executive Officer of C.A.R. and the National Association of REALTORS®.

rights.
Political Advocacy

At PFAR, it is our duty to protect the interests and rights of real estate professionals
and homeowners by remaining engaged when appointed and elected officials
make decisions that affect the real estate population. Approximately, one third of
all bills introduced in Sacramento and Washington D.C. impact real estate. As a
result, our government affairs team works diligently to increase awareness and
community understanding about all real estate related issues.

Many business activities of REALTORS®, are impacted by local
       government actions:

Point of Sale requirements / inspections
           Occupancy Inspection
           Rent Control
Restrictions on For Sale and Directional Signs
           Restrictions on property uses
Fees for licenses, permits, and filings
           And many more issues
Community Involvement

Current initiatives include:

    PFAR Giving
Action focused initiative centered on community mobilization to inspire social
       impact, community investment and partnerships.

    Pasadena Unified School District Program
In 2019, PFAR partnered with the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) and
Pasadena Education Network (PEN) to launch the Pasadena Unified School
District Certification Program. The program educates real estate
professionals on the variety of public school options to serve as valuable
       resources for their clients.
