• Transition to new salary ranges – effective 1 July
o Move across on current salary or 85% of the band, whichever is
higher
• Performance matrix applied after transition to the new
pay bands
• 2% increase applied to all employee salaries (up to

TRANSITION TO STEP BASED SCALE
• 1 July 2019 each salary band will be translated into
2% steps up to 111%.
o Mid-point of all scales will increase by 1%
o All employees translated to nearest step above their
current salary, up to 111%.
o Automatic stepped progression increases up to and
including 109%
o ‘Outstanding performer’ rating will receive a 2% increase12. The Ministry’s offer - 2019

ACROSS THE BOARD
• Further increase at 1 July as either:
o An additional step if below 110%
o 2% of their salary if above 110%14. The Ministry’s offer - 2019
ADDITIONAL UPLIFT
• 2 July 2019 - All permanent employees with a
tenure of two years or more will move to at
least 95% of their salary band15. Other claims
COURT SECURITY OFFICERS
• Review the CSO PD within 3 months, AND
o If banding of role changes move to the new band (J3) on at least
90% PIR, OR
o If no change then a new fortnightly allowance will apply equivalent
to 8% of the midpoint of the J2 band16. Ngā Kaupapa
• Te Haerenga Committee established
o Funded by the Ministry
o Provide input and support for the implementation of Te
Haerenga,
o The first Committee meeting will be held by 1 April 2019.17. Other claims
