SHOWCASING A WORLD CLASS INDUSTRY LATEST INDUSTRY INNOVATIONS UNVEILED TO THOUSANDS OF VISITORS Electra Mining Africa is the biggest trade show in Southern Africa and is ranked as one of the world’s largest mining shows. It enjoys a proud heritage and has been growing mining and related industries since 1972. It’s the show where Africa’s mining, industrial and power sectors come to meet. Visiting Electra Mining Africa 2016, Gauteng Premier, David Makhura, expressed his support of the engineering and mining industry and said that Electra Mining Africa is fulfilling an important function in showcasing the industry. “It is important to see first- hand the capacity of our industry and Electra Mining Africa gives us this opportunity. It is a great place for us to demonstrate our manufacturing capacity. Electra Mining Africa saw the launch of Powerex, an electric power and energy showcase. It focused on power generation, transmission and distribution, application and renewable energy.

FREE-TO-ATTEND SEMINARS
For the first time ever, Electra Mining Africa offered daily free-to-attend seminars.
These were held in association with the South African Institute of Mechanical
Engineers (SAIMechE).
SAIMM ran two-days of high impact Forums with top industry keynote speakers
founded 1894
The SouThern AfricAn inSTiTuTe
of Mining And MeTAllurgy talking about the concept of Mining for the Future.
WIMSA hosted a free half-day workshop focused on development and
innovation within the mining industry.
LEEASA ran a two-day Lifting Equipment Conference covering topics such as
mobile cranes, DMR18, MEWPS, overhead cranes, NCOP, tower cranes, lifting
tackle, mine health and safety, SANS standards and forklifts.
It was the inaugural Southern African Development Community (SADC) Mining
event dedicated to showcasing and exploring the latest insight into sustainability,
developing diversified economies and improving operational efficiency.
