PROJECTS & ACTIVITIES
BLOOD DONATION (01.07.20)
At the beginning of the new Rotary Year, RI Dist. 3291 jointly with Rotaract Dist. 3291
organised Blood Donation camps at 3 places in Kolkata ie at Rotary Prakash Bhawan,
Rotary Sadan and Saroj Gupta Cancer Hospital. The Camp was conducted by Project Life
Force. Rotary Club of Calcutta Yuvis was one of the Host Clubs for the project and we were
in charge at Rotary Sadan Camp. 8 of our Members attended the Camp and 2 of our
Members and 6 of our Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Calcutta Yuvis were among the Happy
total of 100 Blood Donors at Rotary Sadan. New Year
AMPHAN RELIEF (01.07.2020)
The Fury & devastation of Amphan Cyclone on 20th May had been deeply felt by the villagers & the poor.
Our Local partner in Service Bhadrakali Youth Corps identified one such Village Amtali Gram Panchayat, Puijali Ferry Ghat,
Kumirmari, Gosaba Area in Sundarbans and we joined them to help the 250 poor families of the Village
On 1st of July, 2020 the members of BYC visited the village and distributed the following items jointly sponsored by us:
Chura – 1000 KG, Muri – 200 KG, Sattu – 65 KG, Gur – 250 KG, Biscuits – 1500 Pkts, Cooking Oil – 125 Ltrs, Spices – 250 Pkts,
Cake – 250 Pkts, Soap – 250 Pcs, Mosquito Nets – 250, Mask – 250, Sanitary Napkins – 250 Pkts, Drinking Water – 2500 Ltrs.
COVID-19 AWARENESS (01.07.2020 )
Calendar Year 2020 has proved itself as a most Challenging Year for the Humanity in recent memory. For West Bengal, it
became more challenging due to Amphan Cyclone on 20th May apart from continuing problem of Covid - 19.
Our Club joined hands with Kolkata Municipal Corporation to create awareness about safety and precautions to be taken to be
safe from getting infected by Corona Virus and we put up quite a few posters and banners at some prominent location in Kolkata.
SANGATHAN,THE CLUB’S 10TH INSTALLATION (04.07.20)
IPP Ashish Agarwal in the august presence of DG Sudip Mukherjee, IPDG Ajay Agarwal formally & physically handed over the
Club's batton to Rtn Dilip Choudhary. Most of the Members and many dignitaries including PDGs graced the occasion & wished
the team on Zoom.
CLUB OFFICER'S TRAINING PROGRAMME (17.07.20)
RCCY had it official COTS along with 502nd RWM in virtual presence of AG Rajnish Kapoor & ZS Kanak Jain over Zoom
platform. They appreciated the work of Yuvis and congratulated for conducting a successful COTS for RY 2020-21.
SINDHARA CELEBRATION (24.07.20)
First Lady Mamta Chowdhury Initiated celebration of Teej Festival and invited all members of the Ann Squad to attend virtual
over Zoom. Anns actively participated in large numbers and enjoyed the get together with fun and songs after a long time due to
Pandemic guided social distancing norms.
HARIYALI : TREE PLANTATION
We did Sapling Plantation/ Distribution project "HARIYALI" under the Rotary's latest designated focus area - "SUPPORTING
THE ENVIRONMENT"
18.07.20 - 200 fruit bearing saplings were planted at SOS Orphanage House, Salt Lake jointly with RC Avyaana, YMI & CRFP.
26.07.20 - Distributed 600 saplings of fruit bearing plants in places covering the remote area of villages under Dakshin
Barasat Gram Panchayat, Joynagar. The saplings were bundled in a bunch of 5pcs each and distributed to approx 150
beneficiaries.
The project was carried with the financial support of our CSR partner M/S. RSH GLOBAL PVT LTD, who are manufacturer of
well-known Skin care/ Cosmetic product by the brand name "JOY".
The project was part of our mission 'HARIYALI' to plant approx. 4500 saplings by 15th Aug. 20 to reverse the damage caused to
the greenery by 'AMPHAN'.
OUR 'ROTARACT CLUB OF CALCUTTA YUVIS' IN ACTION
26.07.20 - The Rotaract Club Of Calcutta Yuvis on National Parents Day, i.e., on 26th July, 2020 made a short video with them to
recall some sweet memories and cherish the present ones, because this journey which we share with them is equally precious
and never ending.
27.07.20 - Our young Rotaractors did this noble project ' VouchSafe ' Phase 1. They handed over 50 face masks, 50 Sanitizers
and 50 face shields to the local Toto drivers , Auto Rickshaw drivers and the Bus drivers
OUR 'INTERACT CLUB OF ADAMAS INTERNATIONAL' IN ACTION (31.07.20)
The interactors of Adamas International School reached out to the needy people near their localities who are affected by
lockdown by distributing essential food items.This was a minor effort taken by the interactors to bring happiness in their lives
even in these tough times.
