Directors I announced my intention to retire from my position here at Hospice of Orange &
Ronald K. Barton Sullivan Counties, Inc. Therefore, at this time, I have stepped down as President and

This year more than ever, we anticipate the joy and fun only Spring Break can bring. Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties,
Inc. is thrilled to once again invite you to honor and celebrate Mobile Life Support Services, Inc. for their untiring dedication
not only to our organization but to the entire community.
Mobile Life Support Services, Inc. has supported our mission for over 20 years. Gayle Metzger-Hauser, founder and owner
of Mobile Life Services, Inc., understands the importance of the services we offer. “Sometimes, we can only prevent
further damage, ease pain or suffering, or simply provide comfort. That is just as wonderful and helpful to those in need.
Hospice and we are much alike in our goals: to be there, in the darkest hours, for anyone who needs not only our help but
our comfort and reassurance that they are not alone in their life journey. We are blessed to be allowed into people’s lives
when they are at their most fragile and helpless.”
Pam Finnerty, President & CEO of Mobile Life Support Services, Inc., has worked in EMS for over twenty years and has
always appreciated Hospice care and the intricate behind-the-scenes details. Still, her personal experience allowed her to
grasp the entirety of what Hospice offers. “I will be forever grateful for their care for my mom and our family. I am humbled,
and I thank you for this honor,” says Pam.
Not only have Mobile Life Support Services, Inc. provided support financially, but Tim Scannell, Vice President and CFO, has
been a long-time member of our Golf Committee. “An organization like Hospice does outstanding work supporting all during
the end-of-life process. If I can do some small part to make serving patients and families easier, I’m honored to serve on a
committee or support an event,” says Tim. “If we support Hospice in its mission, we are comforting those who are sick and
grieving, and serving others is at the core of our being.”

Veterans Celebration
This Flag Day, June 14, 2022, we will host a Veterans Celebration at
Thomas Bull Memorial Park from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There will be
music, food, ice cream, and a short ceremony honoring our Veterans.
There will be more information to come.
This community outreach is part of our We Honor Veterans Level 5
Partnership. We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice
and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
If you or your business would like to sponsor this year’s event, the cost
is $250. Sponsorships cover the cost of the event, allowing all veterans to attend at no charge.

August 5, 1945 - November 28, 2020
On the first anniversary of the passing of Susan Najork, a tribute garden was completed at the Kaplan Family Hospice
Residence. A flowering pink magnolia tree, memorial plaque, and decorative bench comprise this lovely remembrance
of our dear friend.
Susan was a benefactor of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. She served as a member of the board of
directors. Susan was also a founding member of the Friends of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan and served as president
during the early years.
We thank all who supported this special tribute garden through their generous donations. This lovely memorial on the
Kaplan Family Hospice Residence grounds offers patients and their families the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful space
for many years to come.
On behalf of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties,
Inc., and the Board of Directors, we are sad to announce
the passing of Dr. John D’Ambrosio this past November
19, 2021. Dr. John was a long-time hospice board
member and served as chairman from 2006 to 2007.
John was a friend to many in this county. He will always
be remembered for his unfailing support for all Orange
County businesses and non-profits when he served
as President & CEO of the Orange County Chamber
of Commerce, NY, from 1982 to 2014. Our deepest
condolences to his wife, Marilyn D’Ambrosio, and her
family.
