About Our Theme
This year’s annual report and meeting theme were s inspired by the image on our cover,
created by Drew Robinson, in honor of his father David Robinson.
“Pulling out all the stops” comes from organ-playing, where it means "bring into play every
rank of pipes," thereby creating the fullest possible sound.
For our purposes, the expression means using all the resources at hand. NAMI Franklin
County pulled out all the stops to make sure people have access to the services they need!
Thank you to our Legendary Achievers for pulling out all the stops! Thank you for being
champions and advocates...for being teachers and guiding lights. We are especially grateful
for your capacity to turn wounded places into windows.NAMI Franklin County extends a very special welcome to this evening’s speakers. It is fitting that as we celebrate “pulling out all the stops,” our guest speakers have done so in such dynamic ways. Tara Rigsbee A Certified Transformational Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, and Mental Health Consultant, Tara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services. Tara believes that excuses will always hold us back. Everyone deserves to live the life they want to live. No one can choose for us how we live our lives. We are in charge of our own destiny, so eliminate the excuses. Her goal as a Life Coach is to coach, teach, and guide others through the clouds of life, and open up all the possibilities that life has to offer. As a Mental Health Consultant, she can help guide you through the stigma surrounding mental illness. Find understanding, acceptance, and recovery through her lived experience and training. Dr. Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk is the Vice President for Health Promotion, University Chief Wellness Officer, and Professor and Dean of the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. She is also a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at Ohio State’s College of Medicine. She is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in evidence-based practice, intervention research, child and adolescent mental health, and health and wellness, and is a frequent keynote speaker at national and international conferences on these topics. Dr. Melnyk has consulted with hundreds of healthcare systems and colleges throughout the nation and globe on how to improve quality of care and patient outcomes through implementing and sustaining evidence-based practice.
