     www.facebook.com/anatolirusakevich
2. Miejsce pobytu – dojazd z Polski, opis miasta, usytuowanie Uniwersytetu.
Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland with a population of around 2 million
people, making it the third-largest city in Australia, after Sydney and Melbourne.
Even though Brisbane is rapidly developing and forward-thinking, it maintains a
youthful enthusiasm and has what is arguably the most vibrant, laid back and friendliest
atmosphere of any east-coast capital city.
You can find a lot of attractive destinations quite close to Brisbane, such as:
Fraser Island (the world's largest sand island, stretching over 120km),
Rainbow beach (a cosy coastal town with a beautiful beach),
Sunshine Coast (beach resorts, surf spots and rural hinterland),
North Stradbroke Island (the second largest sand island. You can spot koalas, dolphins
and kangaroos in the wild there. I did),
Moreton Island (sand island is known for its beaches and steep dunes),
Gold Coast (famed for its long sandy beaches, surfing spots and elaborate system of
     inland canals and waterway),
Byron Bay (popular holiday destination, known for its beaches, surfing and scuba
diving sites. Additionally, there are lots of unique shops).
3. Uniwersytet – państwowy czy prywatny, liczba studentów, studenci zagraniczni
QUT (Queensland University of Technology) is a highly successful Australian university
with an applied emphasis in courses and research. Based in Brisbane, the university has
a global outlook, some 42,000 students, including 6000 from overseas.
The university focuses on applied subjects relating to technology, but they also offer
courses related to finance, accounting, economics, psychology, education and so
     on.
4. Kursy – opis kursów, w których brałeś udział: forma prowadzenia zajęć, sposób
zaliczenia – egzamin czy zaliczenie? Jaka była możliwość konsultacji, jak radziłeś sobie
     z językiem?
Cost and Management Accounting. Classes 3h. Assessment items: Online quizzes
     (20%), written assignment (20%) and final open-book exam (60%).

     closed-book exam (40%).

Online quizzes (25%), written assignment (25%) and final take-home exam (50%).
Business in Australia. Virtual lectures plus 3h workshops. The unit includes a field trip to
a local company. Assessment items: Presentation (40%) and Report (60%).
Professors are very open and friendly. They have particular consultation hours and are
     happy to help.
5. Warunki studiowania – dostęp do biblioteki, komputera, ksero
QUT Library is open to all members of the public and membership is not needed to use
most services and resources within in the library.
You can use computers and you can scan and print documents as long as you have
     balance on your student account.
     Campuses
     QUT has two campuses:
Gardens Point campus is located in Brisbane's central business district, situated next to
the beautiful City Botanic Gardens and alongside the Brisbane River.
Public transport, accommodation, shopping and dining options are all within walking
     distance.
Study areas at Gardens Point: building and planning, business, information technology,
law and justice, science and engineering.
Kelvin Grove campus is located only 2km from Brisbane CBD. The campus is adjacent
to the award-winning Kelvin Grove Urban Village, which includes student
     accommodation, markets, shopping and restaurants.
The campus hosts the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, and the QUT Health
Clinics, which provide practical clinical experience for students and free or low-cost
     healthcare to the community.
Study areas at Kelvin Grove: creative industries, education, health, English language
and pathway programs through QUT International College.
     Living
In Brisbane, most students live in units, apartments, houses or shared accommodation.
QUT does not have accommodation on campus for students. Rent is paid weekly. The
price depends on how far from the city center you want to live and whether you want to
have your own room or to share one. Shared room in a house is around 160 AUD per
week. A personal room with own kitchen and shower/toilet in a private student
accommodation is around 350 AUD per week. In other words, it is quite expensive just
     like everything else in Australia.
You can also stay with an Australian family as part of a homestay placement. The family
you stay with will provide your meals and a furnished bedroom, as well as giving you a
great opportunity for language and culture exchange.
Bring everything you usually need for living and studying. July and August (winter
season) were quite cold months. During the day it was warm to hot, but after the sun
went down it was really cold to sleep at nights, because the walls are pretty thin in
Australian houses. After those months it was getting much warmer and hotter close to
December. Winter season is no rain season, whereas summer season is quite rainy.
Do not bring plates, frying pans, quits, pillows and things like that, you can buy it in
Australia. Target, Kmart, BigW are the stores like Auchan only without food.
     Office
International Student Office helps you very quickly and people working there are nice
     and friendly.
After you are nominated, you should complete some forms online. Nothing extraordinary.
They will send you all the necessary documents to get a visa.
      Flights
Etihad, Emirates, Singapore Airlines are not low cost airlines, that is why prices are not
that volatile. However, sometimes they do have sales. But I do not think it is reasonable
to buy tickets 6 months in advance, one or two months in advance are enough. I bought
tickets from Etihad around 2 weeks in advance and I cannot say that I overpaid too much.
I think the price had not changed that much compared to how much it was one month
      prior.
Domestic flights are operated by Tiger Air, Jet Star, Virging Airlines. The first two are
      kind of low cost airlines.
      Food
Food is quite expensive. Usually you will see the same numbers on price tags compared
to what you see here in Poland. The difference is that in Australia the price tags are in
AUD and in Poland are in PLN. However, brand things, such as Nutella, Oreo, M&Ms,
can be even cheaper in Australia, especially when they are on sale. Australian
supermarkets have a 1/2 price promotion and you can buy a lot of healthy things for half
the price. Australian popular big supermarkets are Woolworths, Coles, IGA.
      Work
You can work there 20 hours per week when studying and 40 hours when exams are
over. Before working, you have to apply for an Australian Tax Number.
      Banks
You can open a bank account. In Commonwealthbank it was free for students. Having
an Australian bank account is a good idea if you pay for your rent or just want to keep
      your money in the bank.
      Public transport
You can buy a GoCard to use public transport. Remember to apply for a concession, but
before that you will need to put your temporary Australian address in QUT system.
There is also CityCycle bikes to use primarily in the center. It costs 3 AUD per months to
use a bike free for every 30 minutes.
9. Życie studenckie – rozrywki, sport
There are plenty of student sport clubs to join. Students clubs organize a wide variety of
trips and events. All you need to do is to follow them on facebook.
Australia is a relatively expensive country. When you are there, try not to compare prices
in the supermarkets to what you are used to in Poland. Just accept it as it is. And if you
want to save some money, you can always buy food and things on sale for 1/2 price.
You can also work, but admit it, you are going to Australia to study and travel. Work takes
your time and flexibility. You will earn money, but you will lose time and experience in
Australia. Money can be earned in Poland before and after the trip, but you will not get
          Australian experience in Poland.
Beside studying, try to travel as much as possible. And do not postpone your plans,
because time does fly. You will come to Australia and kind of the next day you will have
          to go home.
          Travelling
There is a mid-semester break, so you can plan something big for this week. I went on
a road trip from Darwin to Adelaide (North to South) right through the middle of Australia.
          It was amazing.
Australia is a very diverse country and you can see a lot of awesome places. My personal
recommendation for travelling would be (in no particular order): Cairns (a chance to see
the Great Barrier reef), Whitsundays (Whitehaven beach), Fraser Island (Lake
McKenzie), North Stradbroke Island and Moreton island, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary,
Gold Coast (whale watching), Byron Bay (surfing), Sydney. Those are the places I have
been to and I loved it. Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road are considered nice as
          well.
Australia is extremely far from Poland, but it is not that different. Australians are just like
Europeans. I have not noticed a huge difference. They are quite easy to communicate
with. No need to somehow prepare for Australian culture. You will find it close to your
          own one.
12. Prosimy o krótką ocenę programu (max. kilka zdań, która mogłaby zachęcić innych
studentów do wzięcia w nim udziału. Jeśli wyrazisz zgodę, użyjemy jej do celów
          promocyjnych programu.)
Exchange programs are a great chance to grow personally, academically and
professionally. Moreover, you will meet a lot of people from all over the world.
          względem ogólnym i merytorycznym (akademickim).
          Ocena ogólna: 5/5
          Ocena merytoryczna: 4/5

Raport należy napisać na 3-5 stron formatu A4 i przekazać do CPM TYLKO w wersji elektronicznej –
