Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School Athletic Meeting
Parent and Student Contracts, & other Forms can be found on school web page under ATHLETICS Parent Contract Student Contract Current physical on file dated May 1st or later Physicals and supporting documentation must be turned in before the first day of practice. Athletic Fee and all physical documents, including Concussion Form, must be turned in before uniforms are issued. Athletic Fees are to be turned into the Athletic Directors in the School Office. Coaches must have “Coaches Contract” and Application on file for the 2021-2022 season before the first day of practice. All athletic forms can be found on the school’s individual sports pages, located under the Athletics tab. Can also be found on the website under Forms & Documents Heading.

Know Your Role At Events COACHES COACH: Please leave coaching to the one volunteering to fill this role. OFFICIALS OFFICIATE: Please leave officiating to the ones hired to fill this role. PLAYERS PLAY: Please leave the playing to those chosen to fill this role. SPECTATORS SPECTATE: This is your role. Please fill it with class and represent SFA in a positive way.
Diocesan Virtus Training Requirement Anyone who coaches or works with students must be Virtus certified coaches, assistant coaches, or parents who volunteer. All Coaches must be Virtus trained before the first day of practices. You can find classes in your area under Calendar of Events on the Website below. www.catholicdioceseofwichita.org Once you have completed the training, please bring a copy of it to the school office for our records.
Athletic Eligibility & Attendance Eligibility: Students will be ineligible: ➢ After 5th demerit – Students who are ineligible will sit out one game/event during the ineligibility period. ➢ Receiving a failing grade “F” – Ineligibility lasts one week (Monday to Monday); that also includes Monday night games as well. Students are still allowed to practice with team and attend games. However, students are NOT allowed to play or suit up.
Athletic Eligibility & Attendance, Cont. If your child receives two consecutive “F’s” in the same quarter, they will be required to attend Homework Club until their grades are passing. Students are still allowed to practice with the team and attend games. However, students are NOT allowed to play or suit up until notified by the Athletic Directors. If you have concerns that your child is going to be ineligible, please check Powerschool and see what needs to be turned in BEFORE grade checks on Monday.
Athletic Eligibility & Attendance, Cont. ISS or OSS Policy: If a student receives an ISS or OSS, they are not allowed to either practice or participate in any CSAL athletic events for one week. Students will have until 2:00 p.m. every Monday, during the grade check period, to raise their grade to a passing one. If it isn’t passing by then, they are ineligible for that week.
Uniform Checkouts Uniforms will be handed out during school, at the end of the school day, or at practice. Athletic fees, physicals, and concussion forms, in addition to other required documents, must be turned in before the student will receive their uniform. Cross Country will checkout jerseys at the parent meeting scheduled by those coaches. Football players will purchase their own jerseys for the 2021-2022 season through Play It Again Sports. 7th Graders will purchase their own for the new season. 8th Graders will use previous one from last season unless it needs to replaced.
Attendance Only students who have attended school for at least half the day will be allowed to practice or participate in contests, games or events. The school principal must approve exceptions to this rule.
Uniform Care Kept clean and washed after every game. You should wash them on cold and gentle cycle then Hang them to dry. DO NOT PUT IN THE DRYER PLEASE! Uniforms are being damaged due to being put in the dryer and we are not able to use them for next year. There will be a $50 uniform replacement fee.
Sports Fee For 2021-2022 Athletic Year Sport Fee Per Student Basketball – Girls Placements week of 10/11/21; Boys Placements week of 12/6/21 $90 Cheerleading – Practice will begin week of August 16, or as determined by coach. $125 Cross Country – Practice will begin week of August 16. Times TBD. $25 Football – Practice will be August 16; Days and times TBD. $50 – Registration Fee Uniform/Equipment Fee - $150 paid to Play It Again Sports. Practice begins August 16. Track & Field – Practice begins week of February 28; Days and Times TBD $25 Volleyball – Placements will be week of August 9; Practice begins August 16; Days and $40 Times TBD. Parent meeting will be held during Placements Wrestling – Practice begins October 25; Days and Times TBD TBD
