GOING TO GOD TOGETHER 2021 - “THE SPIRIT LIVES IN EACH OF US”
A huge “thank you” to our planning team, who, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit have been creatively
planning this annual family gathering for thirteen years: Laura McFarland, Peg Siebenaler, Joanne Tuzik, and
Elaine Zych. We are also very grateful to Nancy Gorman, the MC for the event and our Deacon Ed Pluchar, who
shared with us the many ways in which we find The Spirit Working Among Us, the theme for this year.
All participants received a Flame with one of the Fruits of the Spirit….Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,
Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. Families were asked to put that Fruit into action in their
daily lives.

world is God’s loving gift, and that we are called quietly to imitate his generosity in self-sacrifice and good works.”
Pope Francis further explains, “One expression of this attitude is when we stop and give thanks to God before and after
meals. I ask all believers to return to this beautiful and meaningful custom. That moment of blessing, however brief,
reminds us of our dependence on God for life; it strengthens our feeling of gratitude for the gifts of creation; it
acknowledges those who by their labours provide us with these goods; and it reaffirms our solidarity with those in
greatest need." (LS 222, 227).
We show our respect and gratitude to the Creator by our stewardship and recognition of his
bountiful creation as a precious gift requiring our care. Happy Thanksgiving!
A good time was had by all!

FAITH DIRECT
This Thanksgiving we are expecting an unprecedented number of people throughout our community to turn to St. Julie Billiart for
warm meals, comfort, and shelter. No one in need should be turned away, which is why we are reaching out to our parishioners.
Your generous online donations now will help sustain Thanksgiving ministries that reflect God’s love. As you can imagine, our
ministries are feeling the effects of rising costs and empty shelves. We must prepare as early as possible this year to do our best to
help those in need.
We prayerfully request that you consider signing up for eGiving from your computer, smartphone, or tablet. You can set up a
recurring donation or make a one-time gift.
